- Job Summary:-
The Credit and Collections Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit approval process, managing the collections of outstanding accounts receivable, and ensuring the company's credit policies are adhered to. This role involves working closely with the Sales Organization, Accounting Department, and other cross-functional teams to minimize financial risk and promote positive business relationships.
- Key Responsibilities:-
- Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing clients using historical and empirical data.
- Recommend credit terms for new clients and revise terms for existing clients when necessary.
- Manage the collections process to ensure timely payment of invoices and reduce delinquent accounts.
- Collaborate with the Sales Organization to develop credit arrangements that limit the company's exposure to collection problems while promoting future business relationships.
- Share monthly aging report with CFO/Controller outlining any outstanding issues.
- Publish monthly list of clients that are on the Watch List. These are active clients that have unresolved collections issues.
- Publish a quarterly list of clients with whom the company will not do business due to past collection issues.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and perform analysis to identify potential collection issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all credit and collection activities and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the year-end audit analysis and provide necessary reports to the CFO or Controller.
- Qualifications:-
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP, or similar.
- Knowledge of credit and collections processes and familiarity with audit trail requirements and compliance standards.
- Preferred Experience:-
- Ability to develop and maintain good rapport with various departments.
- Experience in handling high-value accounts and managing risk on significant annual receivables.
