Marks & Spencer - Manager - Buying - Menswear Segment (6-10 yrs)
Job Title - Manager Buying
Job Purpose :
- To develop Business Unit (BU) strategy for the season with the (BU) merchandiser.
- To ensure right representation of Menswear strategy across channels - Retail & Digital
- To build the right product offering to suit the customer profile and maximize full price sell through.
- To deliver in-season actions that maximize sales and profit opportunities for BU
Key Deliverables (Essential functions & Responsibilities of the Job):
- Lead Menswear product strategy with end to end ownership of product lifecycle
- Buying, range selection, option planning, range development, margin delivery and cost negotiations
- Forecast trends and share inputs with design team for range creation
- Range presentation to sign off the BU plan with Buying and Merchandising Head
- Placing orders for seasonal requirement to meet critical path for launch and deliver on sales plan, respond to in season variables to address any immediate gap
- Delivering 90%+ product fulfilment for launch while ensuring availability of all key Marketing/window product lines
- Analyzing historical performance to be able to support buying decisions
- Reacting to sales Information and working with suppliers to revise production flows and maximize sales.
- Agreeing and reviewing targets for sales, margin, stock, commitment and availability.
- Assisting operating plan review and sharing lessons learnt from product perspective
- Ensuring on time catalogue submission and order placement
- Sharing product inputs for in season/end of season markdown planning
- Working with the supplier for the prompt input of flows to ensure alignment between production and commitment
- Sharing production plans on time to book/manage MSI capacity
- Communicating product information to retail team to allow them in finalizing Menswear layout plans for stores
- Defining pricing architecture as per product strategy
- Maintaining awareness of competition's product offering
- Standardization of internal reports including, but not limited to, catalogue, seasonal presentations, buy sheets,implementing and exploiting new systems and process

Education and Work Experience :
- Post Graduate in Fashion Management/Retail
- 6-10 years of experience in product Buying in Menswear
- Buying experience with International Brands/Retailers is desirable
- Proficient in MS-Office
- Thorough understanding of products and Menswear trends
