Key job responsibilities include the following:

The professional needs to develop, write, and deploy thought leadership projects in technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT), with a focus on technology sector. The incumbent will need to develop research ideas, frame hypotheses and validate them, analyze quantitative and qualitative data, synthesize findings, and demonstrate strong writing and presentation skills. The incumbent will work with the USI and U.S.-based TMT team.

The professional will be required to –

- Conduct research and contribute toward external thought-ware/reports in TMT industry; specifically in technology sector (areas such as cloud, software and IT services, hardware, semiconductors, and networks) on topics such as cloud, mobile, digital, social, and analytics.

- Propose research topics and ideas to help create thought leadership for TMT industry.

- Support research proposals and projects being developed by senior professionals in US and USI TMT teams.

- Write high-quality research reports targeted at the executive audience based on insights and findings from the studies.

- Structure, organize and synthesize information to develop key insights.

- Apply research techniques such as in-depth financial analysis, case studies, and econometrics.

- Conduct in-depth, complex data analysis to form or validate the hypotheses.

- Build effective working relationships with subject matter experts within the firm.

Key skills required are as follows:

- Knowledge of the U.S. market and technology sector.

- Experience in one or more of the following research methods: Conducting expert interviews, forecasting/simulation, and financial analysis. Knowledge of statistical analysis and tools such as SPSS/SAS/R will be an added advantage.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Exposure to working in teams, including virtual teams.

- An ability to build professional relationships, a spirit of co-operation, and a flexible approach to work are required.

- Experience in working with US clients is a plus. Since the job requires significant coordination with US colleagues, the ability to network with US counterparts is important.
