Job Summary : The job involves heading and leading the organisation and growing its core business of lending to organisations and determining the strategy and direction, and building the new agrifinance business.
Specific Responsibilities :
- Determine the overall strategy and direction of the growth of the business. Implement and monitor the business strategy and vision, in conjunction with the management team. Take overall responsibility so that all businesses preform as effectively as possible keeping in mind the original objectives of the organisation's, and stakeholder perspectives
- Derive detailed plans for the agrifinance business as a whole and separately for each of the product lines under it keeping in mind the competitor framework and company's own strengths
- Hire and develop a team of professionals to drive the business
- Act as the custodian of the organisation's brand and what it stands for and who it wishes to serve.
- Actively monitor company performance relative to plans, forecast company results and set targets for short and long term. The incumbent needs to be deeply involved in implementation and execution of the business plan.
Should be adept skilled and networked to raise equity and debt as and when required
- Optimise capacity building and agribusiness expertise and other areas as relevant from time to time
- Periodically review the product & segment focus and benchmark performance against competition. Ensure that all the internal procedures conform to all aspects of the regulations.
The Person :
Qualifications and Experience :
- MBA or equivalent from a premier management institute is preferred
- The successful candidate for this position must have 18 - 20 years of experience in a commercial bank with specifically 5-7 years in Micro-finance and lending to Agribusinesses.
- Strong understanding of the Financial Services market place and changes that will impact the business. Understanding of the Indian capital markets
- Should be a leader who shares passion for the products and markets that the organisation's operates in.
- Strategic planning skills and relevant experience developing or refining a strategic plan to deliver suitable product offerings.
- Should have previously built teams and developed individuals within the team.
- Established track record of delivering growth and other performance parameters
