Head, Global Cash, Messaging & Filtering Operations

Role Description - 

- The incumbent is responsible for owning and leading the regional Cash Operations Run the Bank (RTB organisation) mainly supporting the CIB's Cash Management Corporate (CMC) and Institutional Cash Management (ICM) Business as well as providing Cash Operations services to PWCC and other BANK business in various countries.

- The role will sit on the management team of Cash, Messaging and Filtering Operations and will be the deputy for Global Head of Cash, Messaging and Filtering Operations

- Responsible for regional operations teams in over 15 local markets including operational functions in service centres in India

- Responsible for the clearing volumes of more than 30 million payments on peak days and more than 1 trillion - /$ per day

- Managing staff of approximately 1200 regionally

- Main services provided cover Cash Clearing (Single Payments, Bulk Payments, Cheques), Funds Release, Messaging, Filtering, Billing & Investigations

- Close business working relationships front to back with clients

Tasks / Responsibilities

- Day to Day management of Cash, Messaging and Filtering Operations across APAC

- Influence and work with various stakeholders across BANK and regulators to lead the Risk, Cost and Control agenda in a changing regulatory environment

- Proactively analyze and identify possible risks and issues within the organization that could impact daily process and service delivery and either resolve them or escalate as appropriate.

- Work closely with the peers in Operations and Technology management to drive the Service Management and End-To-End Process Optimization agenda

- Optimizes resource management and efficiency across the group by streamlining processes and identifying simplification initiatives

- Translate strategy into an operational plan for delivery and provide oversight and guidance to ensure effective organisational leadership and day to day business running

- Develop and foster key relationships within business / product line and sponsor / actively promote an environment of personal development and continuous improvement

- Drive strategic dialogue across operations and businesses to prioritize key initiatives.

- Ensure stakeholder awareness, engagement and support through effective and timely communication.

- Support the development of an environment where people management and development is a top priority. Coaches direct reports and others in the organization, as appropriate.

- Develop talent within the organization and active diversity leader within the management team

- Actively supports the CIB COO Strategy, plans and values; contributing to the achievement of a high performance culture.

- Acts as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment.

- Create, drive, evolve and sponsor franchise initiatives to leverage technology and Business Process Management solutions to reduce operational process and drive exception based business management

Experience

- Relevant experience in senior management role in Ops and Technology.

- Experience in Cash Management and Global Transaction Banking

- Proven ability to understand broad business issues and their strategic implications.

- Proven ability to deal with complex and ambiguous situations and drive solutions

- Proven ability to analyse and assess the business and financial impact of Target Operating Model changes as they evolve through bank wide strategy

- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written/verbal)

- Good understanding of complexities around working in distributed global teams

- Ability to work in a fast paced environment

- Entrepreneurial thinking and first experience in business development

- Keep pace with technical / operational innovation and maintain a broad understanding of the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) offering

- Open minded, able to share and receive information, transfer knowledge and expertise to / from team members
