Manager - Warehouse Operations - Logistics (12-16 yrs)

Job title Manager : DC operations

Reports to : Zonal Head

Location : Tauru, Haryana

Job Purpose/Objective : To manage operation at and consistently meet/exceed KPIs as prescribed by the customer. Convert and maintain DC to world-class standards.

Primary Responsibilities :

- People Management

- Measurement of productivity of staff (Blue / white collar) and maintain high levels of productivity across all shifts.

- Maintain regimental discipline across the DC team by focussing on attendance/shift timings and the overall behavior of the workforce.

- Aligning the workforce to business needs. Motivate the workforce to respond to the business needs of customers as and when demanded Sunday / Holiday working etc.

- Customer engagement (Customer located at the DC)

- Understanding the dynamics of customer business.

- Thorough understanding of customer needs and priorities.

- Aligning DC operations to consistently meet customer needs and SLA agreed with customers. No deviation to be allowed.

Operation excellence :

- Achieving prescribed KPIs consistently and continuous improvement of the same.

- Inventory accuracy 100% - High focus on key activities such as PIV (Perpetual Inventory Verification)

- Take leadership for KAIZEN initiatives and report/showcase results regularly.

- Ensure high productivity levels for MHE deployed

HSE initiatives :

- Strict adherence to safety measures in the warehouse

- Strict adherence to fire safety measures regular drills, fire hydrant usage training, and regular upkeep of motor and water pumps, etc.

- Strict adherence to safety shoes/uniforms and helmets by the workforce.

- Visitors management in line with safety guidelines

- Prescribing and enforcing speed limits for MHEs deployed

P&L Management :

- Undivided focus on overall cost management

- Implementation of cost-saving initiatives on a regular basis

Qualifications / Experience :

- Engineering graduates degree holders from reputed Institutions

- Specialization in Industrial Engineering is desirable

- Minimum work experience of 6-10 years in managing large/high throughput modern DC operations

Other skills :

- A proven track record in managing a large workforce (say 100+) is essential.

- Good exposure to SAP / WMS (reputed WMS) environments is essential.

- Very good working knowledge and experience of MS Office applications

- The ability to speak and communicate in the local language is desirable but not essential.

- Excellent communication skills with workers, customers, peers, and senior management team are essential.

- Good time-management capabilities.
