Manager - Underwriting - Life Insurance

Experience Required: Life - Underwriting experience with Minimum 3yr into New Business.

Roles and Responsibilities :

1. Managing the team of underwriters monitor and mentor the team.

2. Underwriting of New Business insurance applications.

3. Review of cases underwritten by Jr. Underwriters for decision quality and training.

4. Ensuring quality and uniformity of underwriting through audit checks, Risk management, feed back etc.

5. Regular updation and revision of guidelines, manuals, forms etc.,

6. Grievance handling of escalated cases.

7. Take up project to improve the productivity and efficiency of the Underwriting/Operations function.

8. Analysis of various data and presenting the same to the management (STP scrutiny fail reasons, Decision wise analysis, comparitive study of the industry practices etc.)

9. Ensure consistent implementation of Underwriting guidelines through regular Quality Checks and monitoring.

10. Provide inputs and supports for process automation and improvement.

11. Manage UW Support team and ensure smooth functioning of underwriting function.

12. Ensure prudent risk underwriting for individual policies through high process and quality adherence.

13. Ensure adherence to Underwriting TAT.

14. Conducting New Initiatives for Process enhancement.
