Job purpose :

- This position is responsible for managing various teams who are responsible for processing work permits, renewals and end of assignments for multiple regions, including coordination with outside counsel, managers, HR business partners, talent acquisition staff, and employees.

- This position deals with issues of high complexity, requires independent decision making and requires an understanding of Immigration law. This role is a key point of contact for some of the regions in the EY in relation to Immigration compliance

Your client responsibilities :

- Provide coaching and performance management support for a large team comprising of Team Leads, Senior Associates and Advanced Associates

- Managing the full life-cycle and breadth of international assignments and transfers for internal and external clients

- Responsible for smooth and successful implementation of the new processes

- Provide work flow and utilization support to the management team

- Experienced in project management processes. Should perform reporting work independently with little direct supervision

- Point of contact for final review of deliverables, offer feedback and ensure deliverables are compliant with firm standards

- Ability to think strategically and creatively, to identify and resolve issues and ability to independently manage deadlines and responses

- Communicate clearly and confidently with the country teams, clients and colleagues both verbally and in writing

- Proactively identify any process improvements and work with the Managers, Senior Manager and Operations lead for smooth implementation of the changes

- Set up and diligently participate in the conference calls with stakeholders

- New hire on boarding responsibilities and training and perform administrative duties as required

- Demonstrates ability to make decisions. Contributes to and participates in decision making and creates a participative decision making environment

- Actively requests feedback on performance and supports development of others. Demonstrates ability to give constructive feedback. Designs challenging personal development plan

- Takes a broad approach to problem solving and decision making by analysing, thinking and planning ahead

- Demonstrates motivation, commitment and participates in activities. Clearly expresses thoughts and ideas

Your people responsibilities :

- Mentoring team leads and team members sharing knowledge and leading practices, answering questions, and assisting with problem solving.

- One to One coaching of individual team members to enable better efficiency and effectiveness

- Serve as a role model on engagement team(s), e.g., behaviours which demonstrate the Practices and Firms Shared Values

- Provides team leads; completes periodic performance reviews in role as Reviewer

- Guiding team members on process and business issues

- Interview and actively recruit team members in coordination with HR

- Responsible for career development, mentoring, retention and education matters for team

- Support and interface with HR regarding personnel matters

- Provide input to the HR on promotions, ratings etc.

- Developing relationships with Counselees, through formal and informal contact.

- Providing guidance to Counselees in developing career and performance goals and monitoring those goals throughout the performance year Honouring confidentiality with regard to the ratings.

- Advocating for Counselees, carefully considering their best interests on a long term basis and those of the firm.

- Working with Counselees in the development of their Personal Scorecard and Development Plan; making sure it is appropriate and realistic.

- Completing timely and effective Performance Reviews. Developing ones own counselling skills by participating in programs and other learning opportunities conducted by HR from time to time

Technical skills requirements :

- 9-16 years of previous experience working in a professional services environment or equivalent in UK immigration role (UK COS/RLMT)

- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Proven project management skills

- Ability to build rapport with key stakeholders internally and externally

- Good organization skills

- Exceptional reporting and analysis skills

- Demonstrate initiative, follow-through and problem solving ability

- Quality and deadline driven

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

- Team player with energy and enthusiasm

- Strong people management skills

- Pays attention to detail

- Passion for learning and developing technical skills

- Sound interpersonal skills and committed to working as part of an integrated service delivery team

- Shows initiative and is proactive in seeking resolution of issues and in learning the business

- Understands the critical importance of achieving deadlines and identifies issues that may impact on our service delivery

- Able to work independently

- Good problem-solving skills (ability to think outside the square when required) are essential)
