JD:
- As a Taxation Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and reporting for the organization.
- You will ensure that the company complies with all tax regulations and laws while optimizing tax strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize financial efficiency.
- This role requires a strong understanding of tax laws, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Tax Compliance:
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of all tax returns, including Income Tax, GST, PF and ESI.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance with current requirements.
Tax Planning:
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities while maximizing tax benefits and incentives.
- Analyze financial data and transactions to identify opportunities for tax optimization.
Tax Reporting:
- Prepare and review financial statements, tax provisions, and tax disclosures for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure the accuracy of tax reporting.
Tax Audits and Investigations:
- Manage tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities, including responding to information requests, preparing documentation, and representing the company in discussions and negotiations with tax authorities.
Tax Risk Management:
- Identify and assess tax risks and exposures, including potential tax issues or liabilities, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
- Implement controls and procedures to ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
Internal Collaboration:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, accounting, legal, and operations, to provide tax guidance and support on business transactions, investments, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure that tax implications are considered in decision-making processes.
External Relationships:
- Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including tax authorities, external tax advisors, and consultants.
- Stay informed about industry developments and best practices in taxation.
Tax Technology and Systems:
- Evaluate and implement tax technology solutions and systems to streamline tax processes, improve efficiency, and enhance data management and reporting capabilities.
Key Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field.
- CPA or advanced degree in taxation preferred.
- 7-10 years of experience in tax compliance, planning, and reporting, with a focus on retail industry.
- Thorough understanding of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations and apply them to business situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate tax issues and solutions to non-tax professionals.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems and tax technology solutions is preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
