Hiring for Manager Supply Chain and Logistics position with a leading FMCG conglomerate. Candidates from Premier B-Schools - 2009-2012 batch, having 8-10 years experience in Logistics need apply.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB :
- Effective and efficient management of the Logistics and supply chain operations in the Region resulting in enhanced service levels and optimum spend.
- To coordinate implementation of logistics and SCM initiatives in liaison with HO.
KEY FOCUS AREAS :
- WSP operations and performance monitoring.
- Inventory Norms at WDs and Warehouses.
- Ensuring high service levels to WDs.
- Logistics Spend Management and benchmarking.
- Statutory compliance in Transportation and Warehousing
- EHS compliance in Warehouses.
- Training of WSP
Problem Solving :
- Continuously evaluate the warehousing & transportation network design to optimize costs
- Truck utilization through monitoring & analysis of performance, adoption of best practices
- Risk analysis for minimization of accident, theft & hijack
- In the area of Inventory Management monitoring pipelines of various categories at the Warehouse stage, raise alarms for violation of inventory norms
- Monitoring monthly OTIF; Analyzing the reasons for violation and taking up with interfacing functions (SBUs, Transporters, LAAs for ordering)
- Monitoring safety stocks w.r.t to changing dynamics of TIT / supply lead-time and demand variations and highlighting areas for improvement.
Principal Accountabilities :
- With respect to WSP Management Storage space management for the Region making recommendations for enhancing/optimizing storage space w.r.t forecasted volumes resulting in reduction in truck demurrage charges, improvements in Truck turnaround time during loading and unloading.
- Monitoring WSP performance in terms of Truck Turnaround time, Storage space utilization, Material Handling, Safety and Hygiene, etc benchmarking to the best in the Industry.
- Developing existing WSPs capability (training) in the light of increased throughputs and complexity of operations. Develop alternative vendors to meet gaps
- Infrastructure development and new godown selection, Service provider evaluation for the same.
- Yearly contracts execution and spend management in WSP operations for the Region
- Process improvement initiatives in coordination with Logistics Manager-HO.
- Drive WSPs audit (Material Handling, Infrastructure, hygiene, Safety, Systems) feedback and corrective actions.
- Gear up and facilitate process for direct deliveries to modern trade.
- With respect to Inventory Management analyze Warehouse/ WDs OOS performance and drive improvements
Managing Resources :
- Recommend a transporters cost to the Manager Secondary (HO).
- Ware house cost- once off cost like transformer along with EHS Manager, return freight from WD, and hike in diesel cost.
- Recurrent cost w.r.t appointing new WDs servicing from the godown.
Team Work :
- Branch Manager regarding to Warehouse Operations w.r.t dispatches are delayed.
- RLM w.r.t movement of goods pops etc from the warehouse, space requirement (retail architecture within a branch).
- Interface with FS in the Branch to open a new godown w.r.t legal and statutory compliance.
- Finance Manager - Any process improvement in the Region- routing and networking.
- Regional Manager and RSMs- supply related issues to be sorted out, route prioritization, process improvement w.r.t to business, new category planning.
