The Bridgespan Group is a global non-profit organization that collaborates with mission driven leaders, organizations and philanthropists to break cycles of poverty and dramatically improve the quality of life for those in need. The firm offers services in the areas of non-profit strategy consulting, philanthropy advisory, leadership development and thought leadership, and works primarily in the areas of education; children, youth, and families; public health and nutrition, and livelihoods.

Bridgespan was founded in 2000, after being incubated at Bain & Company. Its offices are in Boston, New York, San Francisco and South Africa; Mumbai is its first location outside North America, launched in 2015. The India leadership team includes Pritha Venkatachalam, Soumitra Pandey and Andrew Belton.

The Position :

Bridgespan is an organization where rigorous analytics, teamwork, and social impact connect. Over the last two years, the Bridgespan India team has served over a dozen clients across all of Bridgespan's focal areas, created a strong and growing reputation for thought leadership and knowledge building in the sector. The organization has built a robust, growing team of young consultants passionate about social impact.

The Manager position is a senior role within the firm, a stepping stone towards partnership. Managers are expected to :

- Provide Case Team leadership : to Bridgespan's clients, driving strategic problem solving, analytics, knowledge development and the team's professional development

- Contribute to : knowledge building and thought leadership for the impact sector

- Manage, build and grow : senior client relationships

- Support firm building : through client development, knowledge building, recruiting and mentoring teams, and internal firm activities

- Uphold and embody : Bridgespan's values of impact, candour, collaboration, respect, and passion.

The incumbent will be based in Mumbai.

Experience :

The Manager should be a person who is passionate about the social impact sector - someone who believes in the potential to create a better world through the type of work Bridgespan does, while contributing to building a new practice and shaping the trajectory of the firm's global expansion.

The ideal individual is likely to have at least six years of experience, ideally with demonstrable engagement with strategic issues in a consulting or corporate context. S/he must have led teams, spearheaded projects, and managed diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical, communication and inter-personal skills are vital.

Competencies :

- Strategic orientation and leadership : the individual must have the ability to identify and frame strategic and organizational questions for the broader social sector, as well as in the context of service to Bridgespan clients.

- Relationship builder : the individual should be able to build and lead relationships with clients, with colleagues across the firm, and with the key constituents of the social sector ecosystem.

- Execution excellence : the individual must be able to use strong quantitative and qualitative skills to deliver client impact in a consulting model within agreed time frames and resources, while managing and balancing the requirements of the team.

- Personal characteristics : S/he must be a good communicator, an engaging and collaborative leader, humble, intellectually independent, with a desire to learn and professionally engage with social impact.
