MANAGER - STATUTORY AUDIT (For an Indian Advisory Firm)

Location: Gurgaon

SCOPE OF WORK:

As a incumbent will be responsible for:

- Lead, manage and supervise the execution of external audit engagements

- Form sound professional relationships with client staff. Respond to them promptly, in an efficient and professional way.

- Identifying ways to maximize the relationship with clients and deliver added value.

- Identify client issues, convey these and client requests to senior staff promptly and accurately

- Implement / utilize technical standards to the high standard

- Understand the entity and the industry in which it operates to develop expectations of its financial performance

- Ensure the client provides key information. This is achieved by adopting a logical, coherent and consistent approach to addressing work issues and developing and evaluating options in response to all issues and suggests solutions

- Produce good clear first drafts of correspondence and reports

- Plan and perform audit procedures in accordance with local accounting standards

- Provide audit services, demonstrating real value in the audit process above and beyond the regulatory mandate

- Apply knowledge of regulatory body rules and regulations over financial reporting. Apply data analytics to deliver high quality audits, providing business insight and value to clients

- Identify audit risks, obtain evidence and generate unique insights for clients.

- Prepare, analyze, and verify financial statements and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures to assess financial condition and facilitate financial planning

- Provide accounting insights to clients in a clear and concise manner, including insights into complex accounting issues such as revenue recognition, share-based compensation, business combinations and internal controls

- Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends, and emerging technical and industry developments

- Stay informed of general business/economic developments and their impact to the client.

- Analysis of financial statement of the entity and peer companies. Work on IND AS

- Prepare and analyze Cash Flow Statements and Accounting Ratios

- Verify the compliance of GAAP and other statutes for accounting as well as disclosure requirements, including encouraging/advising management to adopt the best practices for Financial Reporting

- Evaluate the financial results of the Company vis--vis initially developed expectations and industry perspective

- Manage own time effectively and ensure that project work is completed to timescale and budget. Provide high quality work promptly, contributing to the successful completion of client work Adhere to defined procedures (e.g. in carrying out project work)

- Ensure all work is completed to the standards required by senior staff and clients

- Coach, train and develop auditing staff to upgrade their knowledge.

- Be seen as a role model for auditing professionals.

- Carry out practice management activities e.g. resourcing client billing etc.

DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE

- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 7 to 10 years of experience in Statutory Audit, in a Consulting Firm

- Core statutory auditing skills

- A strong, energetic work ethic. High on integrity.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity

- Good managerial, administrative, risk management and mentoring skills

- Strong ability to train, develop and grow team members

- Willingness to invest the level of effort to meet client team priorities

- Strong interpersonal skills and team player skills
