Manager/ Sr. Manager - Patents (Oil / Gas/ Renewable Energy)

About Our Client:

Our client is one of the India's largest conglomerates headquartered in Mumbai, with businesses in the energy and materials value chain.

Objective of the Job:

Handling of the patent portfolio for the Group

Responsibilities:

a. Help marketing to identify the patents

b. Filing the applications and prosecuting the patent applications before the Tribunal

c. Filing the necessary oppositions against third parties who attempt to register similar/deceptively similar marks at tribunal level as well as at Appellate authority level

d. Defending the oppositions filed against the marks of the Reliance Group

e. Initiating actions (Civil as well as Criminal) against infringers of the brands

f. Protecting brands with help of other authorities like Customs

g. Protecting copyrights in the brands and labels thereof

h. Copyright related litigation pertaining to brands.

Key skills required

a. Knowledge of Patents Act

b. Knowledge of Copyright Act

c. General Legal knowledge for handling the litigation

d. Knowledge of working of the copyright office

e. General knowledge of documentation.

Education & Experience Requirements

a. Mandatory: LL.B. with experience of 8 to 12 years

b. Additional: LL.M preferred
