Key Responsibilities
A. Overall (Group level):
- Direct & Indirect Tax Planning for the organization and all the BUs.
- Keeping the organization aware of the implications of various direct and indirect tax laws on business decisions.
- Expeditious resolution of Tax matters when need so arises.
- Dealing with tax authorities
- Regular updates to the management and businesses
- Coordination with tech team/oracle etc. on various automation initiatives
- Working with external resources for advice and resolutions.
- Any Other related matter
- Ensure transactions are at Arm length pricing for Inter-company transactions.
B. Direct Taxation:
- Preparation and filing of income tax returns
- Prepare submissions and representations for income tax assessments of the Company
- Tax Deductions at Source (TDS) - deduction, deposit, forms, returns & assessments & appeals.
- Reconciliation of 26AS credit with books to ensure all credits are availed/considered for Annual tax filings
- Liaising with auditors for filing of Tax Audit Report, Transfer Pricing etc.
- Quarterly tax provision working for closure of financial statements
- Liaison with statutory auditors for tax accounts/disclosure finalization.
- Providing information, liaising & strategizing with consultants on the tax positions to be adopted in respect of issues at various appellate levels.
- Submission of Pre and Post Budget memorandum to various financial bodies like FICCI, GI Council etc on behalf of the company
C. Indirect Taxation:
- Monthly GST filings and GST payments
- GST Credit Reconciliations- Credit Register vs GSTR 2A
- Timely responses to departmental notices
- Drafting responses, interpreting sections, attending summons on behalf of the company
- Coordination with auditors and timely filing of GST Annual Returns and Audit reports
- Handling of statutory and internal audit queries
- Amendment of registrations and obtaining new registrations.
Required Skills:
- CA / MBA with specialization in Finance or similar from a premium institute
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience focused on direct and indirect taxes
- Should have a track record of competent handling of complex tax matters.
- Should be up-to-date on tax laws and rules and have an expert level understanding of relevant tax laws and rules.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Accounting Standards.
- System proficiency and should have operated in ERP based integrated applications.
- Seasoned in partnering with executive team and cross-functional teams; able to influence people with no direct reporting relationship
- High level of written and oral communication skills
