Manager/Senior Manager - Sustainability - Bank (8-12 yrs)

A Leading Private Bank is looking out for a Sustainability - Manager / Sr. Manager with experience in Carbon Footprint management, Carbon Neutrality, Science-based targets, Integrated/Sustainability Reporting, DJSI/MSCI/CDP disclosures, sustainable financing, ESG Risk management, Green, social, sustainable bonds frameworks to be based at Mumbai.

Job Purpose:

To manage and promote sustainable business practices

To manage compliance and voluntary reporting

Key Responsibilities:

- To drive ESG and sustainability within business

- To initiate projects related to responsible business practice

- To map and manage the banks Carbon Footprint

- To develop and execute strategy for achieving Carbon Neutrality Target

- To create process for undertaking science-based targets

- To manage reporting requirements (Compliance and voluntary)

- To develop sustainable finance framework

- To develop ESG Risk management

- To develop Green, social, sustainable bonds frameworks

Accountabilities:

Non Financial Reporting :Managing Mandatory and voluntary reporting requirements pertaining to CSR and sustainability

- Interactions with business to seek inputs on parameters required for reporting

- Collating data/information across departments for reporting purpose

- Liasing with consultants and internal teams to ensure accuracy in reporting

- Ensuring effective use of IT tool to create data backup and managing tracking of historical reporting data

- Ensuring external assurance of ESG KPIs and disclosures

- Provide High Level recommendations for improving current reporting practices (BRSR, Integrated Annual Reporting) and identify gaps in the same.

Business Responsibility

- Conducting Analysis on gaps and recommending strategies for continuous improvement on social, environmental and governance parameters.

- Drive adherence to ESG policies and processes to ensure good ESG practices within the Bank. To identify avenues for efficient business practices to reduce materials (energy, paper and water) consumption.

- To spearhead the process of GHG Inventorization

- To ensure adherence to carbon neutrality targets

- To ensure and execute carbon neutrality strategy

- To develop processes for undertaking science-based targets

- To develop strategy to become net zero carbon

- Disclosure & Indices on Sustainability

- To drive Banks' leadership in Investor led forums and sustainability disclosures like CDP, DJSI, MSCI, Sustainalytics etc and demonstrate bank's leadership in moving beyond adherence to International frameworks (UNGC, UNPRI etc.)

Responsible Banking :

- Responsible Banking To liase with Credit and Risk teams to develop sustainable finance criteria framework

- To identify Business case for Green/ Responsible investments

- To develop Green Bonds, Social Bonds frameworks and processes to demonstrate leadership in Responsible Banking

- Internal and External communication

Present the Bank's Sustainability Performance to Internal and External Stakeholders through clear, concise and purposeful communication.

To present the Bank' performance to the Board and external Sustainability Forums

To regularly drive interaction and on-board senior internal stakeholders to drive and uptake Sustainability as way of business and thus percolate best ESG practices in the Bank

Education:

Degree in Sustainability/Environment management with 8-12 years overall experience.

- Strong knowledge of CSR reporting requirements

- Good communication skills

- Ability to interact with Business.

- Understanding of various sustainability frameworks and principles like Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) UNGC principles, and SROI
