We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager / Sr. Manager - GL Accounting to join our Finance & Accounting team. The successful candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 3 years of experience post articleship, specializing in General Ledger (GL) accounting. The Manager / Sr. Manager - GL Accounting will be responsible for overseeing the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the financial reporting process.
Key Responsibilities:
General Ledger Management:
- Oversee and manage the general ledger accounting functions.
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all general ledger accounts.
- Monitor and reconcile GL accounts on a regular basis.
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, or applicable standards).
- Coordinate with auditors and manage audit processes.
Month-End and Year-End Closings:
- Lead month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate closing of financial records.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Maintain and enhance internal control procedures and policies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals.
- Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure professional growth.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Systems and Processes:
- Utilize and maintain accounting software and ERP systems.
- Implement best practices for accounting processes and procedures.
- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within financial systems.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-articleship experience in GL accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in [industry/sector specific to the company] is a plus.
