CATEGORY MANAGERS

Demand Generation:

- Build local and national tie ups with manufacturers, suppliers and brands- Setup inbound supply chain for the category in multiple cities, set operational guidelines for handling category assortment.

- Category Managers have end to end responsibility of the customer experience and growth of the category they have been assigned to. We strive to present our customers with the widest selection of services at the best prices - The Category manager's role is to bring in the relevant assortment, design targeted promotions, manage partners including sellers and brands.

- Category Manager will have an end to end responsibility of driving growth through rigorous campaign planning and management and optimizing conversions for continuous growth in take rates for the related category. The Category manager's role is to bring in the relevant availability, curate best offers and deals for members, design targeted promotions, and keep a close eye on overall growth in take rates for the lob along with profitability.

- Category managers also need to anticipate customer needs and work closely with the product managers to mitigate gaps through launch of relevant features and will drive a major change or enhancement for customer experience influencing category needs based on their knowledge of competitive trends in the marketplace and other macro environment data.

Conversion optimization:

- Work on plans to enhance Revenue as well as Conversions on platform and improve market share

- Own the customer experience in the category - make navigation, discovery easier through constant benchmarking. Save the customer time - Identify the parameters customers use to make decisions and ensure catalogue richness.

- Stay on top of changing trends and strategic priorities through in-depth data analysis to predict customer behaviour.

Merchandising:

- Develop and execute plans to showcase the right products - Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities.

- Own both creation and execution of promotions calendar alongside marketing teams including special occasions

- Work with marketing to identify the best RoI initiatives to build awareness and encourage trial across channels - SEM, SEO, Social etc. Work closely with marketing team to reduce SEM costs while increasing conversions of website visits to orders.

The successful candidate for this high impact role will be a self-starter with a passion for independent, creative problem-solving, have proven data analysis skills, demonstrate great - voice- and content creation chops (i.e. strong writing skills), show strong ownership and commitment, have proven experience in ecommerce leading brand / vendor negotiations.

Basic Qualifications

- MBA/Master's degree

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Proven negotiation skills, influencing abilities

- Strong numerical and analytical aptitude

- Proven experience leading cross-functional projects

- Work experience (7+ years)

Preferred Qualifications

- Vendor/ brand negotiations

- Experience in E-Commerce Category Management role will be preferred

- Exposure to Product Management or Digital marketing roles will be a great plus

- Knowledge of Adobe analytics, Omniture or online funnel management tools is preferred
