Manager - Sales - Packaging (7-15 yrs)
About our client :
The company was founded in 1879 and is based in Germany. It's a medium sized, globally operating group with headquarters in Germany. The company manufactures plastic and aluminum-based sealing inserts for the packaging industry and caters to customers from the food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, agro-chemicals, industrial chemicals, liquor, cosmetics, and lubricants industries.
Organization is looking to employ a Sales Manager for their India operations. The organization already has a customer base in India, however it will be a start-up operation and the Sales Manager will be responsible for sales PAN India for the newly formed subsidiary of the company.
Main Responsibilities :
- To manage and execute all sales related activities including business development, acquisition of new customers, handling of key account/existing customers and project management.
- To ensure effective and profitable execution of all sales activities in line with the corporate objectives.
- Advise management on local sales operations, assessing future potential business and creating/maintaining new business opportunities in new sectors.
- To address & resolve customer complaints to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction since it is a technical sales/concept selling position.
- To oversee and manage logistics, supply chain & other administrative tasks to ensure smooth business operations.
- To become the key point of contact for key accounts and key opinion leaders.
- To represent the organization at promotional events, trade fairs etc. as guided & directed by the management.
- To conclude agreements/contracts with key customers.
- To establish and maintain relationships within local industry associations.
- To maintain excellent communication with the German HQ and carry forward the group's vision and objectives for the Indian market.
- Bachelors- or Masters- degree in Marketing, Engineering or similar.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in technical sales & concept selling with a European organization or a multinational company, preferably from the packaging or related industry sector.
- Firm commitment towards outstanding quality and service standards.
- Self-confident personality who has access to all hierarchical levels.
- Excellent English oral and written communication skills with ability to connect with customers & co-workers at all management levels.
- Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind.
- Must be willing to travel frequently on PAN India basis.
- Self-motivated professional with systematic work style, go-getter attitude & experience in team management.
- Skill set : Creative, analytical, confident, self-starter attitude, flexible, adaptable and willing to work under pressure- you need to be able to approach and talk with a broad range of people
- A team player - we- re a small team and we need someone who is willing to get stuck in.
- Computer savvy with required proficiency in IT, MS Office applications to create reports, documentation - as defined by the management.
