Our client is a vertical fintech play focused on solving industry-specific financing gaps in the food sector through the application of data. Founders are the alumnus of IIT-D, IIM-B and Wharton. They- ve 12+ years of experience as Venture capital and corporate entrepreneurship at DFJ, Vertex, InMobi and VP at Snyder UAE, investment banking at Unitus Capital - leading the financial services practice, and institutional equities at Kotak. They- ve a team of high-quality professionals coming together for this mission to disrupt the convention.

As a Manager Risk and Investments, you will develop a first-of-its-kind investment assessment paradigm for revenue-based financing in India and leading investment appraisals for company's different revenue-based financing products

What you will do:

- Investment assessment: Assessing brands that are seeking investments from us, based on identified criteria

- Presenting analysis to IC with ownership on investment approval process

- Contributing to preparation of investment microsites for individual investments

- Iterating on company's proprietary scoring models

- Identifying alternate data sources beyond financial statements and implementing them as a part of assessment criteria

- Identifying relevant sub-sector criteria to score and rate investment opportunities internally

- Back-testing investment appraisal models at regular intervals to improve the same

- Driving automation of investment decisions

- Automating appraisal mechanisms for all newly launched products and revisiting the same for an existing product

- Portfolio monitoring : Complementing appraisals with portfolio data analysis and portfolio monitoring at regular intervals

Desired Candidate Profile

What you need to have:

- 3-4 years of experience in roles that requirement assessing early stage companies across:

- Investment analysis for early stage investing/micro VC/ VC/ funds, or

- Investment banking for early stage transactions, or similar backgrounds.

- Strong excel skills; Familiarity with advanced excel use cases

- Understanding of financial statements and related terminology

- Excellent verbal and written English skills

- Experience in preparing investment decks and reports

Preferred:

- Prior exposure to working on data-led models

- Proficiency in data analysis

- Working knowledge of VBA/SQL/similar programming languages for data analytics
