Purpose of the Job :
To ensure that the planned merchandise mix is achieved on monthly & seasonal basis through appropriate merchandise offering controlled buy, right costs, timely availability of merchandise and enhanced Sell troughs.
Key Result Areas for the Incumbent
Process Responsibilities :
- Analyze, interpret, Suggest, Co-ordinate and support in creating the seasonal Range Architecture based on Past Sales, Trends, Forecasts, Consumer Preferences, Market Research, Market Potential, and gross profit requirement. Act as a custodian in maintaining the Category Merchandise Mix
- Analyze the sales and the sell-through & Range effectiveness to understand Best Sellers and Worst Sellers in a particular season
- Study and analyze customer preferences, product innovations, fits and styles through market research.
- Timely Allocation to the WH for the team to dispatch & ensure the merchandise reaches the stores.
- Tracking of Inwards for each and every style for the season
- Competition Brand Analysis.
- Responsible for Buying and planning for the category
- Ensuring highest sell-through on full price
- Selection of the right merchandise as per historical Sales.
- Replenishment as per day to day sales.
- Permission for the inwards & partial inwards to ensure that merchandise flow is smooth.
People Management Responsibilities :
External:
Customer Interaction to ensure that the customer is getting what he/she is looking out for.
Internal:
- The below Internal stake-holders need to be kept in a loop to ensure that the external stakeholder (customer is happy)
Design for Range Development
- Fabric and Sourcing to ensure Right Product at the right time and price for Sampling as well as Bulk
Financial Responsibilities :
Must work within the allocated budget for the buying

- Must ensure that the Right Stock is Available at the Right Place at the Right Price
- Inward Mapping & allocations
- IBTs & Replenishment wherever required within the stipulated timeline
- Must ensure that the Top 10 stores are monitored and pushed to the maximizing profitability.
