Manager - Research Reporting Analytics & Modeling Group - BFS

Job Description:

Position Summary

This position is located within the Research Reporting Analytics and Modeling group, which provides actionable Analytics solutions to support the organization's US Business operations and strategy. The incumbent would work as part of this team to support analytic projects.

Job Responsibilities

1. Work on projects related to Data Mining, Insights Generation & Data crunching, Predictive Analytics, Campaign Management.

2. Work independently on intermediate to complex level data gathering, validation, manipulation, data mining and analytic (if required).

3. Work, with supervision, on advanced level tasks. Lead small to medium size data.

4. Interact with business teams to understand core Insurance-related aspects and provide analytic support.

5. Work within multidisciplinary, cross-department teams on large-scale projects.

6. Work towards developing skills for data analytic area through coaching and training

7. Formulate and define project objective and scope based on user needs and thorough understanding of business problems

8. Work as the SME for development of Factbook basis organization and market data.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education : 

- Bachelor's /Master degree (Any Stream) / Engineering or diploma with a minimum of 15 years of education.

Experience : 

- Total experience of 9-12 years, should be working on a similar role for the last 3 year.

Knowledge and skills (general and technical) :

- Proficient in R, SAS.

- Proficient in generating insights from given data to meet business objective.

- Knowledge of data query tool SQL, AQT etc.

- Should have worked on large data sets, statistical predictive model development, segmentation etc.

- Knowledge of advance analytic tools and techniques would be an additional advantage.

- Demonstrated ability and experience of constructing mathematical models from large and complex data sources, including unstructured textual data.

- Strong database skills, including SQL and ability to pull together disparate data sources.

- Should have skills to analyze data and provide inputs on trends, patterns, etc. which will be useful to the business

- Experience of working on advance reports development area related to Insurance, or Banking/Financial Services

- Good written and oral communication skills

- Strong understanding and comprehension of the English language

- Good Analytical, problem solving skills

- Ability to establish priorities and handle multiple assignments concurrently with minimal direction in an evolving, fast paced work environment

- Demonstrate ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Self-disciplined and results oriented

- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with various levels of management, including translating complex ideas and data into actionable steps for business units.

Working Relationships :

Internal Contacts(and purpose of relationship):

- Manager for the purpose of reporting performance, escalation handling, clarifying concerns, and seeking feedback and support as well as associate development.

- SDL for the purpose of settling issues left unresolved by the Manager and monthly evaluation of performance.

- Clients / Trainers for the purpose of pre-process and process training

External Contacts (and purpose of relationship) - If Applicable :

- US Business Operations and analytic team for the purpose of understanding requirements, and delivering on various projects.
