Position Title : Met engineer R&D

Reporting to : Plant Head and later to R&d Head

Purpose of the role :

Purpose of this role is to improve the manufacturing process, raw materials so as to improve the quality of product and reduce manufacturing cost, through continuous and rigorous R&D.

General Education, Certification & Experience :

Educational qualifications for the job :

Desirable : B.E. Met / M. E. Met

Desirable : Around 2- 3 years preferably in investment casting manufacturing process

Job Description :

- Should be responsible Metallurgical Process and Product development in all the plants

- Development of new raw materials and new sources for procurement of raw materials

- Assisting designing of new equipment's for investment casting process

- To control and improve foundry and Heat treatment processes.

- Development of cost saving processes./external Heat treatment sources.

- Yield improvements and cost control.

- Responsible for the mechanical testing and all other metallurgical testing requirements for both the plants.

Control In-house Rejection :

- In-house rejection control by way of root cause analysis and corrective action

- Improvise Foundry and Heat treatment process

- Improve yield percentage

- Achieve rejection reduction in the processes being followed at Foundry and Heat treatment.

Customer Handling :

- Attending to complaints which have route cause in materials or processes

Key Result Areas :

- To achieve 1% reduction in overall casting rejection for foundry and Heat treatment.

- To reduce overall cost by 2% every year

- Yield improvement of 2%

- Other cost reduction through Kaizens of 1% of sales.
