Manager - Purchase - Plastics Component (8-10 yrs)
We are looking for a talented Purchase Manager to support our development teams and contract manufacturing partners in the sourcing of plastic components and other parts.
- The ideal candidate should have an eye for detail and work toward good supplier relationships and total costs of ownership to achieve maximum advantage for Matter and our customers.
- We prefer someone who loves collaborating with others, and isn't afraid to roll-up their sleeves and do whatever it takes to get the job done.
What you will own and do:
- Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop sourcing and negotiation strategies that deliver against business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers.
- Lead and RFI/ RFQ/ RFP and strategic sourcing process for plastic and lighting components - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented.
- Ensures NDA, SOW's and Master Purchase Agreement are positioned appropriately before business is initiated.
- Lead contractual negotiations with suppliers on NDA- s, General Terms & Conditions, and Production Supply Agreements.
- Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models.
- Create competitive environments with suppliers to support a negotiation strategy and evaluate supplier business proposals and present recommendations that will result in cost savings, avoidance or containment.
- Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels.
- Negotiate with suppliers to obtain best prototype and production pricing based on targets
- Evaluate and provide guidance on final selection of suppliers; Perform value analysis for final selection of suppliers.
- Build and leverage strong working relationships with our engineering teams and key suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met.
- Communicate closely with other teams to support prototype requirements, execute against build milestones, and track sourcing progress
What you will bring to us:
- B.E./B Tech degree in Mechanical/Production or equivalent degree.
- 8-10 years of demonstrated experience in vendor development/strategic sourcing for the automotive plastics components.
- Ability to understand Engineering and Design direction and provide focused supply-chain solutions accordingly
- Knowledge on plastic manufacturing from raw material selection to injection moulding tools to surface finishes.
- Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, FMEA etc. of new parts.
- Knowledge of Testing & validation requirements (Part level as well as assembly level) of the developed parts with appropriate regulation certifications.
- Experience implementing end-to-end role from developments, validation to vehicle level fitments trials.
- Managing all the events (Design Proto, Proto Pilot, MPT, Production Pilot and SOP)
- Knowledge on ZBC of plastic components & tooling
- Good interpersonal and communications skills
- Attention to detail to ensure specifications being requested are received.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge on Import transaction & logistics
