Manager - Public Relation - Engineering Organization (14-22 yrs)

Company Profile: Our client is a very large, diversifie & leading engineering organisation having extensive operations in India & Globally. They have multi-locational manufacturing plants & service centers in India & overseas-World leaders in their field. They currently have a headcount exceeding 50,000 and are growing very rapidly. Our clients are looking for PR Managers to be based at Mumbai & Chennai. Our clients offer excellent salary/perks as per industry norms & commensurate with experience.

The positions are expected to be closed by mid-November.

KRAs :

Media relations :

- To constantly monitor media reportage about the business and coordinate with the Corporate Brand & PR teams to evolve strategies

- To build bridges with local media groups along with the PR agency

- To strengthen external communications strategies to maintain a positive image for the business

Internal coordination :

- Working with the leadership team and regional team to plan, create and execute strategies and activities to convey positive change to relevant stakeholders

- Coordinating with various internal departments for a smooth inflow of information to the external public.

- Structured reporting to the management regarding issues concerns among the target audience to safeguard the interest of the organization

Crisis management :

- To be alert for any negative developments and have a Crisis Management Plan

- Also evolve and keep ready an escalation plan

- Develop crisis communication and plan its release

- Image and Crisis Management (minimizing / neutralizing impact).

Liaising :

- With the Government & other allied agencies for policy discussions and interacting on behalf of company

- Building relationships with key government policy makers and targeted influencers.

- Tracking movement of officials across the bureaucracy and ensuring continuous open lines of communication.

- Monitoring Compliance mechanisms and ensuring statutory and regulatory compliances as per rules and regulations of the Central& State Governments.

- Understanding business processes, and proactively suggesting necessary measures to mitigate the inherent compliance, financial or reputational risks by closely working with various cross functional teams to resolve the matters.

Candidate Profile : Engineers and / or Masters in Mass Communications with 14-22 years relevant experience in large engineering organisations. Must be personally & directly dealing with the media.

- Must have worked for core sectors like infrastructure, power, steel, fertilisers, chemicals, cement,petrochemicals, construction, epc. Must have personally done liason with government bodies.

Should have :

1. Strong experience of working with the media, managing reputational issues, developing strong relationships and communicating the company's goals and ambitions to these important stakeholders.

2. Strong relations in all types of communication media - print, TV, electronic and online.

3. Exceptional written, verbal communication & relationship management skills, with a demonstrated ability to assert strategic leadership, foresight and effective judgment and also during media events, media interviews and at client forums as and when required.

4. Ability to remain calm under pressure, solve problems and respond to tight deadlines

5. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills

6.Strong problem-solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise, sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
