Manager - Product Planning - Small Commercial Vehicles Segment - Automotive OEM (7-12 yrs)
Key Responsibilities
1. Understand the need for new products in the respective auto segment
2. Identify white spaces in the market/ gaps in portfolio and generate suitable new product concepts to take advantage of the white space/ gap through long-range product planning
3. Generate future-oriented customer-appealing technology concepts
4. Initiate and participate in market researches/ clinics along with market research team
5. Understand customer requirements related to product and translate them into cost-effective, feasible product/ technical solutions
6. Track and analyze relevant industry data points like market trends/ segment shifts (Indian & global), consumer trends, competitor activities/ products, regulatory trends etc.
7. Interface with PD (primarily Advance Engineering) to shape-up product concept and with other project team members to conclude with table-top business case
8. Support and communicate internally with Product Planning (Project) team to ensure good transfer of knowledge and a smooth handover of new product projects
Experience : 10 to 12 years of experience in automotive industry (preferably in CV segment) with atleast 3 years as a Product Planner/ product brand manager
Functional Competencies :
1. Good knowledge of Small Commercial Vehicles segment (3-Wheeler, Mini Trucks, Pickups / Mini Vans, Vans) in India including market, competition, customer, regulation & trends
2. Good technical understanding of automotive platforms
3. Basic knowledge of new product development cycle
4. Good knowledge of research tools and methodologies
5. Basic understanding of financial concepts used for preparing business case
