Manager - Procurement - Cosmetics Business (4-10 yrs)
Position Overview :
We are seeking an experienced and driven Manager of Procurement to oversee our
procurement operations. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of packaging materials, raw materials, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and upholding our commitment to quality and sustainability. The successful candidate will be responsible for vendor management, negotiations, and quality management throughout the procurement process.
Key Responsibilities :
Vendor Management :
- Identify and establish relationships with reliable packaging suppliers.
- Regularly communicate with vendors to ensure timely delivery of packaging materials.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and provide feedback to improve vendor relationships.
- Collaborate with suppliers to address any quality or delivery issues proactively.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and terms with packaging suppliers to achieve the best value for the company.
- Continuously evaluate market trends and pricing to optimize procurement strategies.
- Seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or sustainability standards.
- Develop and maintain strong negotiation skills to secure favorable agreements.
Quality Management :
- Set and enforce strict quality standards for packaging materials.
- Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor industry regulations and stay updated on quality standards to ensure compliance.
Supply Chain Optimization :
- Develop and implement efficient procurement processes to minimize lead Ames and optimize inventory levels.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, such as production and logistics, to align supply chain activities.
- Continuously evaluate and improve supply chain performance to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Utilize data and analytics to make informed decisions and drive process improvements.
Risk Management :
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor market conditions, geopolitical factors, and trade regulations that may impact packaging procurement.
- Implement contingency plans to address supply disruptions or changes in vendor capabilities.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in supply chain management, specifically in procurement of Packaging and raw materials in the BPC / Cosmetics field.
- Strong understanding of packaging materials, raw materials, production processes, and quality standards.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Ability to analyze data, trends, and market conditions to make informed decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in process optimization and cost reduction initiatives.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant supply chain software and systems.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and commitment to environmentally responsible sourcing.
