Manager - Private Market Research & Due Diligence

Key Responsibilities:

Research & Analysis:

1. Conduct in-depth financial analysis of private companies across sectors using internal and external data

2. Assess business models, funding history, growth metrics, and market positioning to prepare in depth due diligence reports and develop proprietary company scores

3. Analyze historical financials, liquidity metrics, working capital cycles and in depth understanding of startup-specific metrics.

Due Diligence & Reporting:

1. Lead the preparation of comprehensive due diligence reports for investors or strategic clients

2. Identify red flags, risks, and advantages using both financial and non-financial inputs

3. Conduct peer benchmarking and relative positioning analysis for companies in the tech sectors like SaaS, D2C, fintech, and infra-tech

4. Summarize findings in structured reports

Automation, Process Design & Problem Solving:

1. Experience working on process designing and automation is a plus. Candidates should have experience in designing scalable research and diligence processes, and demonstrate a structured, problem-solving mindset

2. Comfort with cross-functional collaboration is essential to build efficient and repeatable workflows

3. Contribute to the refinement of proprietary scoring models used to evaluate private companies

Client & Stakeholder Collaboration:

1. Work with internal strategy and business heads to present findings and recommendations

2. Participate in client discussions and due diligence walkthroughs, offering actionable insights

3. Support methodology enhancements based on investor feedback or market evolution.

Key Skills & Competencies:

1. Financial Statement Analysis: Deep experience interpreting P&L, BS, CF statements; ratio and trend analysis

2. Due Diligence Frameworks: Prior exposure to creating scoring or risk models, red flag identification, and projections

3. Startup/Private Market Acumen: Understanding of growth-stage metrics

4. Industry Research: Ability to conduct sectoral deep dives and identify key business drivers.

5. Report Writing & Communication: Skilled in drafting structured, decision-ready reports and presentations

6. Excel & Modeling: Strong working knowledge of Excel; familiarity with financial models preferred
