Description -

1. BUSINESS STRATEGY & PLANNING:


- Work closely with the MD and the Management Team to contribute to the development of business strategy and corresponding plans for the company, in order to achieve or surpass annual and long-term business targets on delivery of superior OCI, cash flow, market share and volume growth in accordance with guidelines, by ensuring effective models are in place to simulate the different profitability scenarios and helping management decide on the most suitable way to proceed with strategies. Prepare volume/ price forecasts for Company brands and industry taking into account the evolution of market and competitive fundamentals. Provide strategic support to the Commercial team & enable better distribution efficiency & faster speed to market.


2. MARKET, BUSINESS & ENVIRONMENTAL INTELLIGENCE:


- Leverage industry & marketplace trends by collecting, coordinating and appraising business data and market information to ensure that analysis and proposals are accurate in their content. Initiate economic and other analyses on critical and key issues in order to provide Management with key parameters and recommendations on an accurate and timely manner within which business issues can be decided. Proactively assess the annual budget implications and potential competitor moves on the Tobacco industry and prepare for possible implications. Maintain a thorough understanding of the major Legal and/or Corporate issues which impact or may impact the tobacco industry and in order to translate such issues into financial terms and direct the implementation of new strategies, plans or programs that may arise there from.


3. LONG RANGE PLAN MANAGEMENT:


- Organize & manage the Strategic Review Meetings at the commencement of the budgeting/planning process in order to align all parties' strategies for the budgets and Long Range Plans. Collect, challenge and maintain all OB/LRP assumptions & inputs submitted by different functions in order to optimize opportunities and ensure the soundness of proposals. Prepare OB-LRP & RF sales forecasts based on current trends & forecasts for future market evolution. Provide necessary support and information in developing sales KPIs - numeric distribution, OOS based on detailed analytics of Nielsen, GPI SFA and iSMS data. Ensure consolidation of data for in-market sales and industry profitability as well as all other inputs into the overall Long Range Plan presentation ensuring that the document is complete and follows a single, clear format acceptable for submission.


4. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATION:


- Actively contribute to the business development projects by undertaking analysis of business, competitors and consumers to identify growth opportunities through new products & new segments/geographies. Study and provide detailed reports on market dynamics, brand performances, segment opportunities, price movements & volume forecasts to senior management and regional M&A teams on a regular basis. Collect & analyse key business data & market information in order to make recommendations to Management & to assist Line Managers with the preparation and analysis of a variety of business models/proposals and feasibility studies, ensuring that content is accurate and relevant. Drive collaboration on key initatives/projects with India JV partner through regular interactions with Finance, Planning and Commercial teams. Work closely with counterparts & encourage productive flow of information on real-time basis. Assist JV with strategic inputs in order to improve in-field execution & distribution footprint effectively. Share & present analytical reports to team, when required


5. ANALYSES FOR STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:


- Drive and support periodic and ad-hoc analyses to support Management and other departments (Pricing strategy based on changing tax environment and competitor behaviour, Trade margin strategy to optimise profitability and demand generation, Financial evaluation & progress monitoring of key Sales & Distribution initiatives, Support Corporate Affairs for alignment to taxation requirements and ensure application of best practices in advising government on compliant legislation on excise taxes, Participation in key inter-departmental discussions - Commercial Cycle Plans, Sales & Operations Meetings).
