Manager - Philanthrophy

The role provides a unique opportunity to engage with many of India's leading philanthropists and help shape philanthropy in India and be a key driver of outreach, funding, and relationship management activities in India. Core activities will include forging and managing relationships with high net worth individuals, raising funds for our client's portfolio organizations and also for overall administration costs. As a key member work closely with colleagues to develop compelling proposals and providing strategic support and direction for organizational funding needs.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Help develop and drive the Private Wealth sales strategy of in India, meeting and exceed annual funding targets and grow the Indian Private Wealth funding base.

- Maintain and grow existing donor base numbers and contributions through a wide range of interventions, not limited to one-to-one meetings, marketing campaigns, bespoke events, technology platforms, intermediary networks, personal networking and building a referral and lead generation network

- Lead by example and nurture the talented Strategic Philanthropy team. Develop the team's all round capability through in-job coaching, devolving responsibility and identifying the skills and experience needed from formal skills training.

- Work cross functionally to develop the activities and assets needed to deliver the plan. Build coalitions and collaborations externally to deliver the plan.

- Develop a national profile through attending and speaking at proprietary events and private & national forums to lead to further supporter opportunities

Desired Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who is sales oriented, customer, focused, with high energy levels, who naturally builds relationships that lead to results. You should be able to transition seamlessly from managing current relationships to executing on new philanthropist cultivation events. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves kind of role. The candidate should be result oriented with a strong sense of ownership.

You should be tenacious and have deep knowledge and understating of the consultative sales process. We- ve been described as sitting at the nexus of philanthropy and capitalism and we need you to walk between both worlds with equal agility.

Specifically, we are looking for someone with :

- 7-10 years of work experience (preferably in Private Wealth Management, Banking, B2B sales and/or customer relationship management roles). An individual is a person who is ambitious for results and has the drive and determination to achieve them.

- Excellent interpersonal skills charisma and confidence to interact well with others, and the directness and confidence to bring a sale to a successful conclusion. Excellent team working skills, with a proven contribution to team goals and objectives.

- A proven track record of growing existing business and closing new business sales deals with new non-existing clients and meeting yearly targets. You should have good business acumen and excellent negotiating and leadership skills.

- Strong experience selling at senior level with the ability to generate and communicate unique value propositions. An understanding of customers- needs and how to meet those needs. Be organized, have good time management skills and be able to prioritize work load.

- Very experienced at managing end-to-end sales cycle i.e. lead generation, identifying real sales opportunities, a lead presenter at client meetings, putting together detailed proposals and closing deals.

- Ability to bridge the gap between the non-profit and for-profit worlds. Exposure to strategy, CSR, and passion for the development sector would be a definite advantage.
