Manager - Payroll (Above Deputy Manager)


We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Manager Payroll to oversee our payroll operations at Nariman Point, Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing payroll processes, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accuracy in financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee and manage the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.

- Coordinate with HR and accounting teams to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data.

- Supervise and mentor payroll staff, ensuring their development and efficiency.

- Handle and resolve any payroll-related issues and discrepancies.

- Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.

- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.

- Develop, implement, and review payroll procedures to streamline processes and ensure efficiency.

- Manage payroll audits and collaborate with internal and external auditors.

- Maintain and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.

- Stay current on payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR and benefits functions and ensure efficient and accurate payroll processing.

- Work with the finance team to reconcile payroll accounts and assist in financial reporting.

Requirements:

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.

- A minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management.

- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, and tax regulations.

- Proficiency with payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

- Experience with HRIS systems.

- Certification in Payroll Management (e.g., CPP) is a plus.
