Manager - Operational Risk - Bank (8-12 yrs)

Position based with a Mid Size Bank in UAE.

Domain Experience :

- Minimum 8 years in Operational Risk Management covering key controls and risk measurement and management strategies of key risks and controls of each business unit / departments, products and services etc

- Collaborate with the first line of defense/business experts to facilitate the RCSAs to include the assessment of key processes, risks, mitigating controls and action plan development

- Monitor and perform controls testing to validate the effectiveness of controls in the business and assess from operational risk perspective all products and services, whether existing or new including product approval/outsourcing etc.

- Assist the business with timely reporting of operational risk incidents including root cause analysis and development of mitigating action plans

- Identify, link, and analyze trends in KRIs and other findings reported to risk management and compare against benchmarking of operational risks and loss data

- Perform ongoing reviews of operational areas and provide recommendations to improve quality of risk controls

- Analyze, track, and produce reporting of all issues and action plans, including the self-identification of issues by the business

- Assist in conducting operational risk scenario analysis for annual capital stress testing

- Monitor and update Operational Risk Management Policy and Procedures, and other operational risk management materials

-Review and submit timely reports to the Risk Committee,

- Team player in an evolving operational risk management environment, incorporating a positive attitude and flexible approach

- Advanced time-management and self-governance skills to work independently and complete assignments on time.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals across the organization to achieve shared objectives.

- Ability to solve problems related to multiple priorities and/or conflicting or inaccurate data.

- Ability to follow standard practices and procedures.

- Familiarize with incident management process to identify, assess, record and report operational or compliance events that have occurred through failed processes or events.

- Familiarity with management of Loss Data Framework and designing a mechanism for Loss data collection and continuous Maintenance of Loss Database including timely collection of loss data and analyzing loss data with a view to assess key operational risk areas and maintenance of MIS

- Should have thorough knowledge of core banking systems and other common peripheral supporting solutions

- Thorough understanding of Basel risk concepts and direct hands on experience of operational risk work within a banking environment. Managing regulatory reports on approaches for operational risk measurement for capital adequacy in line with Basel compliance

- Strong analytic skills and ability to use them to analyze risks from changes to business through automation projects or digital initiatives including new products and services.
