Objectives of this Role - Drive research to maintain GIST's position as a knowledge leader in the domain of sustainability metrics and impact evaluation - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product and IT) to achieve strategic objectives related to product development and adoption - Represent GIST with clients and prospects for any bespoke assignments - Lead and build a team, ensure timely reporting to the senior management on any challenges and obstacles in the research and development process Responsibilities - Understand client needs and identify research requirements to design products as the best solution that meets those needs - Manage the entire research process from horizon scanning, hypothesis design, research methodology, documentation, and communication with a wider audience - Manage capacity, train & mentor teams of analysts, associates to deliver research and customer success targets - Deliver corporate client requests (performance analysis, RFPs, bespoke delivery) in a timely manner - Gather research knowledge and market intelligence to build a feedback loop with the wider team to ensure GIST's offering is commercial, market-leading and in tune with current and future client demands Requirements - Self-starter who will thrive in a start-up setting by taking ownership and initiative - Entrepreneurial mindset, hunger to grow a business, willingness to work in a collaborative environment with team goals and a performance bonus/ commission structure - 6+ years of experience in research and consulting (ideally Sustainability Consulting) - Excellent verbal & written communication (C1 Level), interpersonal & analytical skills - Excellent research skills, including expertise in environmental footprinting and quantification models. Knowledge of environmental economics is preferred. - Exceptional problem-solving skills: demonstrated ability to structure complex problems and develop creative reporting solutions - Excellent work stream and time management skills, and proven capability of managing teams of 10+ individuals - Creativity and strategic thinking necessary to master both the daily hands-on analysis as well as big picture reporting strategy - Decisive and action oriented, one who can get things done, make rapid decisions even when short of information, and with a high level of energy and stamina - Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills with a deep understanding of graphs and visuals
