Responsibilities :

- To prepare a Strategic Mall Marketing Plan in line with company Marketing plan for Mall 3 months prior to Mall launch. Obtain Senior Management sign off and report quarterly on performance.

- To prepare a Marketing / Promotional Business plan that delivers increase in revenue for retailers and foot fall to ultimately improve the return on investment for the retailers/mall developers/stakeholders.


- To achieve Head - Mall Operations sign off 2 months before the commencement of the Fiscal Year

- To implement the Marketing / Promotional Business plan approved by Head - Mall Operations aimed at delivering increased footfalls to the mall, translating to increased revenue for retailers and ultimately improving the ROI for all stakeholders.

- To translate the centre marketing and promotional activities into individual tenant sales growth.

- To track bottom line results and be able to effectively demonstrate to the management the effectiveness of each event.

- To monitor sales and foot fall reporting and translate these results into meaningful reporting for both the Mall Manager and the retailers.

- To translate the Mall's marketing and promotional activities into sales growth for retailers.

In the role, the following illustrative list of responsibilities are included, but not limited to:

- Marketing Plan : To ensure execution of a rolling 12 month marketing calendar of Promotional Events, Advertising and Retailer development and training. Provide coordination & project management to ensure event success.

- Mall Decoration : Plan & arrange for Mall festive decorations as per approved event calendar/budget.

- Events & Promotion Activities :

a. Arrange regular events in the mall to promote foot fall. Ensure Mall compliance in relation to the events in co-ordination with Mall Liaison representative (to liaise directly with local police as well as related bodies in the absence of the liaison representative).

b. Ensure all marketing related activities drive foot falls into the mall and enhance sales / revenue opportunity.

- Budget : Participate in the preparation of the Annual Marketing Budget in line with the goals of the Mall Business Plan and the Mall Strategic Marketing Plan. Ensure that the actual spend meets the budget spend and be able to demonstrate adherence to the budget.

- Purchasing : Ensure competitive prices with the help of Purchase Department are obtained for all events.

- Ensure that the Mall Manager and other approving authorities approve all expenses.

Client Reporting :

- Prepare a monthly report for the retailers outlining promotional activities, media coverage, sales and foot fall movements, with clear explanations on how these benefit the Mall. Ensure monthly review meetings with retailers to understand brand specific promotions to drive sales.

- Provide regular advice to retailers on the up-coming promotional program, budgets where required and trading performance of the Mall versus comparable benchmark. This may include a regular, tenant meetings and/or presentation.

- Monitor all competitors as highlighted by the business plan, and ensure that the Client and Head - Mall Management are kept fully aware of these.

- Client Liaison : Liaise with the retailers to ensure that they have an understanding of the promotional / advertising program and can participate directly where appropriate.

- Legal : Be aware of the legal and insurance requirements with regard to all marketing / promotional activities, and ensure strict adherence.

- Competitive Activities : Monitor all competitors as highlighted by the business plan and ensure that the Head - Mall Management and Marketing Manager are kept fully aware of research and findings.

- Internal Reporting : Provide timely reporting internally, and quick response to internal requests for information. Attend those meetings / forums nominated by Marketing Manager.

- Casual licensing and Kiosk licensing : Work with the Licensing/ Leasing Manager / Marketing Manager to ensure the approved Budget is achieved. Identify opportunities in the mall for licensing to generate extra revenues.

- Signage Revenue : Monitor & identify opportunities to enhance revenue generation over and above the financial targets as agreed in the business plan.

- Press Relations : The preparation and distribution of press releases to specific promotional events, however a Marketing Manager is not allowed to make statements to the press on any other matter. Maintain a Media Clippings file with all PR and News Clippings related to the Mall together with copies of all Mall Advertising.

- Concierge : Manage the mall concierge services through an outsourced agency.
