Manager - Maintenance - FMCG (10-18 yrs)

At present, We are having an urgent opening for MANAGER - MAINTENANCE for a REPUTED FMCG Co based at GUWAHATI location.

The company is a fast-growing FMCG company with a yearly turnover of 1200 - 1600 crores

ROLE OVERVIEW :

- Drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives to ensure Continuous Process Improvement within the manufacturing set-up.

- Drive Process Engineering activities across Sites.

- Identify non-value-added activities across the entire manufacturing work stream

- Conduct studies, collect and analyze data and identify improvement opportunities in existing set up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Responsible for overall engineering and maintenance activities of the plant.

- planning, leading and coordinating numerous continuous improvement efforts in Manufacturing through supervising, coaching and developing LEAN Project Leaders.

- Responsible for identifying improvement opportunities through monitoring and assessing the current practices, set up, lead and train project teams, identify and remove roadblock or barriers, facilitate and support Kaizen events, and track and own continuous improvement results in the manufacturing process.

- Engages to comply with ISO

- Responsible for revision/ creation of documents like SOPs required during Lean Implementation and Continuous Improvements.

- Accountable for eliminating significant quality issues, wastes due to deficient production processes on shop-floor.

- Utilizes Problem solving skills and statistical techniques to support product/ processes controls that are aligned with the overall quality business vision.

- To present Process Excellence function and provide technical support and information to Plant Leadership Team.

- To ensure support in delivering quality output by engaging appropriate resources for monitoring, controlling and improving downtime and technical efficiencies.

- Implementation of capital expenditure proposals to meet business requirements.

- Drive successful implementation of lean initiatives and ensure specific objectives and results are achieved.

- Initiate, develop & implement new continuous improvement initiatives.

- Utilize various Lean applications and tools to implement improvement programs.

- Lead various Kaizen (continues improvement) events in a team setting and demonstrate successful outcomes.

- Promote out-of-the-box thinking and continuously generate innovative ideas to improve processes, service, efficiency, inventory, cost & space.

- Responsible to coordinate and meet production objectives & strategy by providing lean infrastructure and layout.

- To improve the efficiency of operation using Lean Principles and Process Excellence.

- To develop/analyze statistical data of manufacturing processes to determine baseline and take up projects to eliminate waste and improve on throughput.

- Ensures implementation of 5S, TPM and Kaizen across all Sites by trainings and involvement of people.

- Process Excellence budget preparation, goal tracking and updating the PLT on the benefit being achieved.

- Supports training and certification of BCCL Management Staff and Workmen on 5S, TPM, Lean and Kaizen Initiatives.

- Ensures training/compliance of GMP as per FDA guidelines and site procedures, policies and on the training.

- Conduct audit and gap assessments in support of the internal audit program.

- Partner with cross functional departments in the investigation/ correction of process failure.

- Serve as a representative in the company to promote lean thinking and a continuous improvement culture.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

TECHNICAL:

- Project Management with proficiency in MS project or similar tools.

- Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering with specialization in product design, tool design etc

- Hands on experience in using Mini Tab for data analytics

- 10 -12 years of process excellence experience in FMCG space - Hair Care and Skin Care category

BEHAVIORAL:

- Excellent Communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

- Should be able to establish productive collaborative relationships with stakeholders in a matrix structure for delivering the business results.

- Innovative and creative thinker.

- Experience in managing virtual team and working in a multi-plants environment
