JOB DESCRIPTION - LOGISTICS MANAGER

LOCATION: PUNE

- We are a leading company that manages end-to-end supply chain for our clients in the food service industry. We store, distribute and deliver more than 1500+ food and food related products from our 12 warehouses to meet the needs of our customers across 20+ states in 150+ cities.

- We are looking out for a Professional with functional experience of 10 - 12 years, specializing in the field of Logistics and Cold Chain. The individual should have managed refrigerated fleet across geographies/regions for FMCG/Food Service/Pharma industries. The individual will be required to manage a fleet size of 60-70 refrigerated trucks dedicated for last mile operations and work closely with our Warehouse team & various transporters/3PL partners to ensure that the 500+ drops/day happen without interruptions across the country. The role of this position is to direct and coordinate the activity of transportation of food and food related products shipped from the various warehouses and vendor/manufacturing facility, both in FTLs, LTLs, Linehauls and backhauls on the fleet provided by the 3PL transporters.

- Prior experience of managing diverse teams, supply chain operations including cold chain - Distribution Centres/warehouses and Logistics operations across different regions.

- This role requires a dynamic personality and the ability to manage and coordinate with large groups of employees across all areas of the organization. The most successful employees at our company are the ones that can coordinate and execute initiatives with little to no direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Responsible for Scheduling and Dispatch of the entire fleet, both inbound/linehaul and Last-mile/outbound, across PAN India.

- Maintain contact with drivers while in-transit, tracking location and completion of deliveries.

- Analyse routes/LTL/Backhauls for cost effectiveness; maximize truck/route utilization.

- The individual will deliver key MIS reports, help define team direction, and make sure we communicate well with internal stakeholders such as the customer support and food production teams.

- Manage a fleet size of 60-70 trucks for last mile operations and about 500+ Primary/Linehaul movements every month.

- Monitor and report on fleet performance and ensure entire fleet is in good working condition at all times

- Monitor and follow-up on daily route assignments to ensure customers are serviced per company standards while maximizing asset utilization.

- Individual will maintain up-to-date metrics dashboards and will create reports for management as required

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:

- The candidate will have at least 10-12 years of experience in Logistics and Fleet management, with specific experience in managing refrigerated trucks with fleet size of 100+ vehicles of various sizes (from 500 kgs to 6 Tons) owned or deployed by 3PL.

- Food industry experience with a record of successful distribution and logistics management in previous assignments

- Proficient at Microsoft Office, specifically in Microsoft excel. Experience of working on ERP - SAP, Oracle etc. would be an added advantage.

- Demonstrated proficiency with technology, particularly routing and location-management software

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal

- Great "customer service" attitude to gain credibility with internal and external clients.

- Candidate needs to have good business skills.

- Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments in highly stressful environments.

- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across departments

- Analytical, logical thinker and problem solver, with the ability to find solutions by thinking out of the box

- Ability to generate and effectively implement plans/ideas

- Strong ability to negotiate and manage third party vendors

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

- Diploma/Degree/PG in Supply Chain will be a plus
