Manager - Logistics - FMCG


1. Ensures SAFETY First - To ensure adherence to all safety and compliance policies/procedures/systems of the company - (C.A.R.E - Commit, Access, Recognize, Encourage) program.

2. To meet safety, health, environmental, GMP, HACCP, FSSAI, etc requirements noted in on site policies, notices and permits.

3. Ensure all members in the team wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) as per SOP.

4. Ensuring all injuries, hazards, near misses and equipment damage, which are associated with or observed, are promptly reported.

5. To commit, comply, support the Simplot Sustainability Strategy and work towards achieving the sustainability targets of the company.

CORE ACTIVITIES :

1. To direct the development and execution of the Logistics strategic planning (long/short term) & execution cycle with focus on service, cost, and delivery.

2. Responsible to direct, manage, and implement logistics policies, processes, practices/systems & SOP's. To plan, organize, execute, and monitor overall activities of Logistics & Warehouse operations.

3. To manage the Warehousing (internal or outsourced)/transportation network infrastructure necessary to increase the warehouse performance, sufficient transportation capacities to execute annual operation plans, to achieve competitive advantage in service and total cost effectiveness.

4. Primarily responsible for Warehouse/Transportation (3PL) vendor contracts and relationships, determination of policies, recommendations on warehousing/distribution strategies to support service requirements and achieve company's strategic objectives. Timely identification and resolution of non-conforming situations/concerns.

5. To manage load tendering process for all modes of transportation, ensuring that RFP goals are being attained and managing exceptions with corrective actions.

6. Manage transportation service/distribution network and delivery programs as per requirements of internal/external (retail, foodservice) customer, increase the primary transportation performance including on-time in-full (OTIF) and just-in-time (JIT) delivery to achieve order fulfilment cycle time and order mix fulfilment.

7. Provide market intelligence to procurement team for annual rate negotiations to support distribution forecast and budgeting process.

8. Responsible for formulating the department's financial forecast and annual budget plan including budget control & expense review for 3PL, transportation, operational logistics operations and warehousing. Responsible for adjustments and modifications during budget execution.

9. To develop, manage & maintain distribution & transportation network in assigned geographic region and manage/maintain internal and external pricing for services to be provided.

10. Responsible to ensure operational management of 3PLs/service providers i.e., the 3PL/service providers provide the services as per standards of Simplot and follow the company policies, procedures & systems to drive efficiency, reduce logistics spend against the budget and increase revenue. To monitor carrier performance and manage exceptions accordingly.

11. To act as a key resource being primary contact and to cross-functionally and effectively work with the team, 3PL, supply/production planning & inventory control, purchasing, and sales/marketing, to manage network storage capacity and create product supply plans to meet the overall inventory targets, inventory queries, accuracy with the aim of maximizing order fulfilment & service to customers and financial objectives while operating within seen/unforeseen constraints (seasonal risks as well as one off event such as strike actions, or weather events.)
