Manager - Legal & Commercial - LLB - Publishing Firm (5-10 yrs)
Roles & Responsibilities :
Vetting Internal & External Documents :
- Support the various functions of Companies in ensuring that all proposals, contracts, tenders and agreements are vetted and ensure that exposure levels are within the acceptable criteria
- Provide timely support for vetting of all contracts (sales and lease), tenders and agreements for various internal Departments, from a legal perspective to minimize business risks for the Company
- Providing transaction support ( M & A)
- Assist Editorial team for completion of legal due-diligence and verification of Author sign-up and royalty related documents; coordinate with external legal firms
Responding to Legal Queries :
- Ensure timely response is sent to legal queries raised by customers/authors/other external parties
- Ensure timely response to legal queries received from other internal Departments
- Responsible for filing of statutory forms and ensuring statutory compliances
Setting up Process & Templates :
- Set-up guidelines for designing and execution of all contract and vendor selection related activities, draft the general condition of contract (GCC)/special conditions of contract (SCC) and review and update same on periodic basis
- Create standard contract templates for repeated activities and ensure regular updation of the same
- Establish a framework for effective legal document control and management in alignment to the Company guidelines
- Adhere to the established Department SOPs
Qualifications : Bachelor of Law (LLB)
Experience :
- 5-10 years for LLB
- 4-5 years in legal contracting and documentation positions
- 4-5 years in Publishing industry
