Job description: Manager - Investment Banking
The firm is a Financial Services firm and has a Mid-Market focused Investment Banking practice. It has a successful track record of working with entrepreneurs and promoters in building their companies and advising them on strategic decisions such as M&A, Private Equity raise, Debt Advisory.
Position Overview:
The firm is looking to add capabilities in Investment Banking practice in Mumbai. The Manager will work along with Partners and will form integral part of firm's IB team and will be responsible for end-to-end deal execution. They will assist Practice Leaders and Partners to run key aspects of transaction process. The candidate will be a key team member working on live mandates with primary responsibilities to execute and meet deadlines. These are individual contributor roles. You will additionally be responsible for sector coverages and provide support to Senior Management team for research coverages and deal collateral deadlines.
Qualifications and Competencies: A successful candidate will possess the following attributes :
- M&A and Private Equity Advisory :
- Solid financial analysis, strong excel skills, in-depth understanding of valuation techniques & transaction lifecycle experience
- Strong Research skills with an eye to understand trends, conduct of primary and secondary research on allocated sector, Ability to multi-task
- Preparation of Information Memorandum, Teasers/ Pitchbooks and Financial Model.
- Private Capital market coverage across sectors
- Performing extensive valuation and pricing analyses
- Investment banking coverage of corporate and private equity clients, including pitching and structuring
- Playing key leadership roles in the transaction process
- Taking primary responsibility for deal execution of deals/ transactions
- Maintaining client relations during the deal execution period and building sector-specific expertise
Must haves:
- Excellent communication and people skills - articulate and willing to share an opinion;
- Collaborative style of team work, experience managing and mentoring analysts & fellow associates;
- Prior experience of 3+ years in Investment Banking / VC / Private Equity
- Strong interest in entrepreneurship - position requires establishing credibility & building rapport with seasoned promoters, founders and owners of small growing businesses;
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and a commitment to making the firm successful;
- High degree of self-motivation, grit, determination and persistence needed;
- Master's Degree Required - MBA /CFA/CA with strong academic credentials
