Position Description Designation Manager - Indirect Taxation Qualification Commerce Graduate + LLB or CA Experience 8 - 10 years experience in Indirect Taxation Location CHQ Detail Responsibilities: - Handle Excise, Service Tax, Sales Tax, VAT &amp; other indirect taxes &amp; going forward GST from corporate office - Help in planning &amp; setting up complete organization for indirect taxes management ( transaction execution, reporting, compliance ) for a decentralized manufacturing organization with 14 plants - Keep track of latest amendments in indirect taxes &amp; assess impact of the same on company &amp; issue guidelines to operating staff for ensuring smooth working &amp; ensuring that requisite changes are made to systems &amp; business processes in IT systems - Plan &amp; execute effective responses to demands, disputes &amp; issues raised by various indirect tax authorities. Also to attend to various assessments, audits, inspections, by indirect tax authorities - Guide &amp; train the finance, purchase, sales &amp; manufacturing functions in areas of indirect taxes. - Satisfy requirements of internal &amp; external customers in the areas like transaction structuring, information, classifications, declarations, forms etc - Analyze and prepare to manage complete transition to GST including systems changes, changes in sales &amp; purchase related practices, training to indirect taxes department staff &amp; other user departments to be able to operate in GST Era effectively - Ensure that proper records are maintained &amp; MIS for analysis, control &amp; management decision making is generated on regular basis including quarterly reporting to audit committee - Explore the indirect tax area to identify &amp; implement strategies to deliver tax effective &amp; efficient structures - Identify, prepare &amp; deliver necessary training to indirect taxes dept team &amp; work on development plans of the team Functional Competencies required: - Knowledge Management - Relationship Management - Product / Process Knowledge - Functional Knowledge Additional Skills required: - Good communication written &amp; spoken &amp; interpretation skills. - Inter - Person relationship builder &amp; Team Working - High achievement drive &amp; commitment to excellence - Excellent team builder &amp; team worker - Ability to train people - Good listener - Quick &amp; Responsive - Ability to operate at both micro &amp; macro levels. - Designation for this position will depend on Qualification, years of experience, Quality of experience and candidate profile.
