Manager - Indirect Strategic Sourcing - FMCG/Food (4-6 yrs)

FMCG/Food or beverage industry exp is must

Key Responsibilities:

- Institute & manage the strategic sourcing of all Indirect spend which includes CAPEX, MRO, Quality, Marketing services, Plant consumables, R&D equipment's & consumables, Business excellence center, IT, Admin, HR, New Product Development (NPI), CRM, Safety (PPE's etc) categories which are complex, highly volatile and see double-digit inflation numbers

- Develop and implement sound category plans/ sourcing strategies for the procurement of the respective portfolios

A . Strategic Sourcing

- Lead the strategic sourcing process, working with internal/external stakeholders, & ensuring use of best practices in strategic sourcing. Serve as main contact for key strategic suppliers, facilitating negotiations, discussions and key interactions as needed.

- Make sound & effective strategic contracting and spot-buying decisions while entering into contracts, esp. in volatile commodity markets

B . Business Planning

- Follow market conditions, prepare price trends and forecast future market trends for the respective categories. Support the business with accurate price forecasting.

- Prepare and support in building annual budgets and annual strategic operating plans. Bring in Budgetary control and monitor variances. Meet the financial objectives of the business by ensuring procurement of materials within budgeted/ approved rates

- Direct and coordinate procurement teams to implement the category sourcing strategies along with cost improvement projects; as well as supplier innovation, quality improvement and supply reliability initiatives.

C. Supplier Relations

- Identify, Evaluate & Induct potential suppliers - assess suppliers, perform quality audits in conjunction with Quality/R&D/ Marketing, and ensure appropriate suppliers and their products get approved in the system.

- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to qualify new and alternate suppliers, managing the supplier relationships throughout the process; and build a pipeline of vendors for key strategic categories.

- Identify metrics, tools and process to optimize sourcing, supplier activities and efficiencies. Institute Supplier Performance Management programs.

D. Compliance

- Execute confidentiality and other supply related agreements after collaborating with Legal to establish proper business and legal terms for supplier relationships. Manage Compliances around sourcing as required by statutory bodies.

- Set norms at Organization level for inventory control and planning of materials. Drive working capital initiatives across the chain.

E. Financial

- Engage in Value Improvement Programs and Cost Reduction Projects, to bring in optimization and efficiencies, across the Sourcing Supply Chain. Commit and deliver annual cost savings and avoidance targets.

F. Processes & Systems

- Identify, implement & continuously improve Procurement systems & processes

- Demonstrate & perform in accordance with sound business ethics, purchasing & supply standards, policies & procedures

- A substantial part of the role would be to set up strong systems and processes in place for Strategic Sourcing and ensure that we are in a position to scale up, as we grow and invest in the business as envisaged in the very near future.

- Internal - Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, R&D, Legal, Finance, Management stakeholders

- External -Suppliers, Agents, 3P Service providers

Experience: Minimum 4-6 years of Indirect sourcing experience, FMCG/ Foods/ F&B.

Education Qualification: 4 years bachelor's degree Engineering; MBA/Master's in Supply Chain Management Desirable (Top-Tier/ IIM- s, NITIE. SPJIMR, SIOM etc.)
