Manager - Human Resources - Ed-Tech (3-6 yrs)

Summary Description:

The Manager, Human Resources provides HR operational support for all of GMACs India, Asia and Africa staff in close coordination with the Senior Director, Human Resources and HR colleagues in the US. The Manager, Human Resources rolls out programs developed in Reston or locally, assuring local relevance and customization as needed. The Manager, Human Resources is responsible for India/Asia/Africa HR matters: recruiting, onboarding, exits, interface with HR and Facilities vendors, organizing India learning and development delivery, organizing employee engagement, payroll and benefits support, and s/he escalates all employee relations matters to the Senior Director, HR. In addition, the Manager, Human Resources produces global HR communications, provides HR operational support, and supports the Staff Experience Team under the direction of the Senior Director, HR.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Services & Talent Recruitment for India/Asia/Africa

- Manage full-life cycle talent recruitment effort for all full-time and temporary personnel. Partner with the hiring manager to screen resumes, write and place advertisements, conduct objective interviews, recommend candidates, negotiate offers. Such work may be done if needed and budgeted in coordination with external staffing agencies.

- Objectively coach hiring managers to acquire the required talent through complex, difficult, hiring periods including revising job descriptions, recommending and developing recruiting initiatives to improve recruiting programs/efforts.

- Review current GMAC internal/external training offerings/programs annually to advise on modifications/enhancements.

- Arrange for necessary local compliance training.

- Ensure that Asia staff is informed of GMAC L&D opportunities and programs.

- In collaboration with local HCM external partners, stay abreast of local regulations to continuously recommend training programs and approaches to keep GMAC current on local mandatory/annual compliance issues.

- Onboard and exit employees in India/Asia/Africa.

- Organize local employee engagement activities in close collaboration with Reston HR.

- Coordinate local payroll and benefits matters in partnership with HCM partner.

- Provide communications support to employees GMAC local HR policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.

Global HR Department Operations & Communications

- Maintain, update, and continuously improve both internal (within HR) and external (to employees/key stakeholders) HR department tools such as calendars, communications, project plans, department meeting minutes and follow-up action tracking. Develop/maintain a sharable HR calendar, HR announcements, and seek continuous improvement of HR content.

- Proactively engage with Senior Director, HR on scheduling and packaging of HR content for distribution to key stakeholders, such as all-employee updates. Provide operational support such as:

Develop and maintain efficient filing and calendar systems;

Support HR Quarterly report creation and produce Talent@Work; archive reports on company intranet;

Code and process invoices on a timely basis;

Travel bookings and expense reporting; and

Special projects for Senior Director, HR, as assigned.

- Develop calendar and effective communications of HRs offerings to employees. Regularly package and distribute HR department communications via company intranet and other methods. Maintain current HR content on intranet and easy access for all staff.

- Lead the coordination of GMAC Staff Experience Team, establish SET SOPs with Senior Director, HR, monitor SET budget, manage the composition of the SET and regularly refresh members per the SOP, and serve on the Staff Experience Team.

- Support employee engagement events, trainings, presentations and meetings including planning, logistics, communications, preparation of materials.

- Utilize Workday HCM regularly for regular data searches, reporting, and presentations.

- Work as a cross functional resource to all HR team colleagues.

General

- Other related responsibilities and duties, as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

- 3-6 years experience in the human resources field.

- Superb project management, multi-tasking, and time management skills and understanding how to manage the priorities of multiple stakeholders in a complex environment.

- Experience working in a corporate environment.

- HR subject matter and services delivery expertise in India and Asia, preferably with experience working with a US-based company.

- Experience managing/administering global recruiting/onboarding/retention programs.

- Experience using HRIS database to manage full cycle applicant/recruiting workflow.

- Experience successfully and independently leading HR projects/initiatives using effective project management techniques

- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team setting, and across external and internal stakeholder groups

- Familiarity with payroll and benefits administration.

- Experience in reviewing/executing contracts for temp/consultants and external agency/vendor engagement.

- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).

- Ability to train and guide staff.

- Professional demeanor including the ability to maintain absolute confidentiality, handle sensitive information, demonstrate tact, diplomacy and discretion.

- Customer-focused with experience enhancing the employee experience via innovation and best practices especially through use of creative written content and delivery for employee audiences.

- Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible and poised under pressure.

- Ability to travel as required for training and/or company events.

- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; Strong attention to detail, with a keen focus on quality.
