Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all HR functions for the company and its operations in India.
- Liaise with Canadian HR Manager and Legal regarding office and Human Resources operations to ensure consistency with NewAge's business vision.
- Lead the company's HR programs and policies.
- Oversee and manage India payroll, vacation, and training.
- Provide expertise on local Indian compensation practices.
- Oversee the entire recruitment cycle, create job descriptions, track applicants, pre-screen resumes, verify credentials, assess and interview candidates, coordinate interviews with the department heads, prepare offer letters and gather new hire documentation as required.
- Develop, administer and deliver general human resources functions such as: preparing for the arrival of a new employee, onboarding (i.e. organizing computer and phone setup, email accounts, desk essentials), training, health and safety and employee social initiatives and answering basic employee questions including re-directing to manager and/or Human Resources as needed.
- Administer performance evaluation program and revise as necessary to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within the organization. Ensure annual and 6 month probation performance reviews are completed and delivered.
- Assess employee development needs, make recommendations, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Develop and track KMIs.
- Promote healthy relationships between employees.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns and issues.
- Respond to all inquiries regarding policies and procedures within the company.
- Collect and analyze employee data and maintain accurate and complete employee records in both paper and the database and ensure all employment requirements are met.
- Manage employee return to work program.
- Identify legal requirements and regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure that the company manuals and policies are in compliance.
- Keep informed and up to date on employment and labour legislation applicable to the region.
- Ensure compliance with the health and safety legislation.
- Be the first contact for emergencies.
- Oversees day-to-day office activities, including the development & implementation of efficient office systems and common place policies to ensure a healthy work environment.
- Coordinate with building management to ensure efficient building/office operation.
- Responsible for organizing company events and celebrations.
- Responsible for managing office supplies.
- Responsible for travel administration as needed.
- Manages mail, couriers, and deliveries; and
- Such other tasks as may reasonably be expected of an individual in a position the same as or substantially similar to the position of HR Manager in a business the same or substantially similar to the Business.
Experience & Education
- Advanced HR degree or specialized HR education is preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of experience as an HR Professional.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation).
- Demonstrated recruitment and hiring experience, with a demonstrated history of scaling recruitment for a rapidly growing business preferred.
- Understanding of India compensation and payroll practices.
- Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel and MS Powerpoint in particular).
- Proven training and coaching skills.
- Ability to handle data with confidentiality.
- Team player who is able to collaborate effectively with various departments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, challenging environment and meet tight deadlines
- Confident and proactive self-starter.
- Ability to exercise good judgment, creativity, and positive attitude.
- Ability to balance the role between employee advocate and business partner.
- Experience working as a member of an international team.
- Ability to travel internationally without any restrictions.
