Job Description : Manager- Freight Forwarding Compliance

Reports to : Head Compliance, Antwerp

Key responsibilities :

- Setting up of a freight forwarding Compliance Program for 150 offices worldwide. Develops initiates, maintains and revises procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program. Manages day-to-day operation of the Program.

- Collaborates with other departments (e.g. Risk, HR, claims/insurance department etc...) to direct freight forwarding compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution. Consults with the legal department as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.

- Identifies potential areas of freight forwarding compliance vulnerability, develops/implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

- Assist our offices worldwide with the implementation of local terms in conformity with the services rendered being freight forwarding, customs brokerage, haulage, warehouse operator etc- and the corresponding documents.

- Keep management informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts.

Desired Skills and Experience :

- Solid knowledge, understanding of freight forwarding

- Ability to communicate new processes and procedures

- Must be able to work independently and make compliance based decisions and Must be detail oriented

- Must possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills

- Strong communication and Drafting skills, SOP's, Documentation.

- Languages : English fluently

Qualification & Experience :

- Minimum requirement : Bachelor's degree in shipping/freight forwarding

- Experience : 8-10 years into compliance of FF operations

- 10 years of experience of progressively increasing responsibility in a similar role

Location : Mumbai

Note : It's a global role. This candidate is responsible for managing compliance for FF Operations for the group so need to have exposure in handling compliance for international countries.
