Manager - Financial Reporting - BFSI (8-12 yrs)

- Manages and provides oversight of the accurate and timely preparation of mutual fund and variable annuities / VUL financial reporting and regulatory filings for the managed assets of Ameriprise Financial, Inc. This includes production of semi-annual and annual shareholder reports, prospectuses, SAI, NSAR, N-CSR (SAI, NSAR, N-CSR are forms and reports for Security Exchange Commission-SEC) and various other internal management reports.

- Participate and contribute in providing support service for the initiatives and projects of our various business partners (i.e. introduction of new or enhanced products and services). Including identification of business requirements for potential systems enhancements and/or development of procedural changes to accommodate any financial reporting impacts brought on by regulatory or business initiatives.

- Coordinate and maintain strong relationships with several business partners during the preparation of financial reports and regulatory filings (legal, tax, internal audit, managed assets accounting, products areas and typesetting vendor). This includes managing production deadlines and resolution of any reporting issues or inconsistencies that arise during the report production and regulatory filing process.

- Establish, implement and update accounting and reporting policies and procedures in support of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC), National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) or Internal Revenue Services (IRS) regulatory reporting requirements.

- Key contributor in coordinating audits with external auditors and resolving GAAP financial reporting issues.

- Provide effective leadership, work direction, training and professional development to accountants and reviewers.

- Work with both internal and external parties to share information, resolve problems and improve processes/procedures.

- Perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

JOB Qualifications:

Should have worked on US GAAP

Should have min 3 years exp into people management

- Accounting / Finance Degree with 10- 12 years of post-qualification experience. Additional qualifications (CPA, C.A., etc) will be a plus.

- Investment industry experience, with extensive knowledge of investment accounting and regulatory reporting requirements, preferably for US investment products.

- Proven leadership and management skill - across teams, department staff, management and external auditors

- Strong understanding of Investment Accounting and Financial Reporting systems (InvestOne, FundSuite, SAUV).

- Excellent written and oral communication skills.

- Excellent PC skills, particularly Excel and Word.

- Strong work ethic with high standards for accuracy and attention to detail.

- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

- Highly organized, motivated and self-directed.

Location : Gurgaon

Work Timings : 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (Afternoon shift). Flexibility expected to support busy audit cycles.
