Manager - Finance - eCommerce (8-12 yrs)

This role is a Leader of business finance for one of the retail categories with an eCommerce giant.

In this role, you will be expected to work on strict deadlines, in a fairly dynamic/fast-paced business environment while being a good team leader/ player. You are expected to lead a team and manage Service delivery for Business Finance.

The successful candidate will ensure that accounting processes are run in a controlled environment, meeting and exceeding our customers- expectations. The candidate will report into a Senior Manager. This will also require working with our central accounting, finance operation and Global financial teams to ensure we have a controlled accounting process to do month end accounting and reporting activities in a manner fitting with our leadership principles and organisation philosophy ( Deliver Results, Insist on high standards ). This individual will also establish and embed principals of financial controls by measuring the quality of general ledger account reconciliations, creating dashboards and metrics to measure quality of processes and controls

Responsibilities include:

- Annual financial planning, monthly forecasting of P&L and reviewing all cost lines including headcount, channel cost, fulfilment cost, marketing cost, etc. and drive it through Performance reviews and Dashboards

- Monitor targets/budgets and course corrections against plan Vs actual, Function wise presentation of monthly Financials and key financial levers will be a part of this role

- Review Month close activities for functional cost i.e. accruals, re-classes

- Manage close timelines and escalate on a timely basis if deadlines slip

- Own financial reporting and may teach others e.g. own the delivery of complete month end close of Accounts Payable accounting functions, reporting decks, reconciliations etc.

- Identify and implement process improvements where required.

- Understand the best practices of industry and set up benchmark for quality.

- Actively participate in strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or required.

- Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended.

- Manage complex accounting issues and implement process controls.

- Ability to analyze complex datasets and provide business judgements.

Leadership And Management

- Stakeholder management and building relationships: Make and keep commitments, seek opportunities to partner with customers, be optimistic, and anticipate needs.

- Actively participate in strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or required.

- Ability to work with remote teams in multiple geos.

- Work with cross functional systems and drive process improvement initiative

Qualification: CA/ICWA/MBA, with 8-12years or more years of post-qualification experience in Month-end closing of Books of accounts / working on various Sub-ledgers / Accounting Knowledge / Balance sheet Reconciliation & Reporting activities 


- Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills. 


- Detail-oriented, well-organized. 


- Ability to readily adapt to and lead through changing environment 


- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
