Manager - Equity Research - IT Sector - BFS (3-6 yrs)
1) Job Purpose :
- This position shall be an integral part of the Fundamental Research Desk - and shall be responsible for doing Equity Research (IT Sector) for sell side clients mostly covering the Mid cap companies.
2) Principal Accountabilities :
- Track the IT Sector and the companies within these sectors.
- Recommending stock ideas backed up by sound, reliable and logical research. Also, monitor the same on an on-going basis
- Write in detail initiating coverage report, reflecting in-depth understanding of the company.
- Write update reports - viz. Quarterly results/ Special events for the company or sector/ change in recommendations/ corporate actions/ AGM, company visit and management meet / Channel check/ company reference call/ industry conference etc.
- Build and update financial models of the companies/ sectors tracked.
- Write sector updates and thematic reports.
- Company updates on a monthly basis covering major developments during the month.
- Developing in-depth valuation models for stocks which includes building and forecasting revenue and cost drivers, carrying out industry research, valuation using various techniques, scenarios analysis etc.
- Interacting on a regular basis with the Sales/Dealing/Advisory team members to recommend stock views to clients.
- Support the sales team in terms of morning calls, weekly calls, & portfolio review of actual client portfolio, periodic presentation to sales for organizational business enhancement.
3) Technical /Specialist Skills & Knowledge Expected For This Particular Role :
- In-depth knowledge of the sector and the companies actively tracked
- Financial modeling for the sector and the companies tracked
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong numerical/ analytical skills
- Knowledge of databases like Bloomberg, Reuter etc. would be an added advantage
4) Skills and Knowledge :
- CA/MBA/PGDM/B.E with a specialization in Finance
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Equity Research in an Retail brokerage firm in sectors like IT
