ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

The Antara Foundation (TAF) is a public health non-profit with a vision to ensure that every mother and each child has an equal start to a healthy life. TAF aims to help change some of India's worst health outcomes and prevent needless deaths of mothers and children across villages. The focus is on designing and implementing innovations to achieve delivery at scale. TAF works in partnership with various State governments, with its programs running across Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

TAF was founded by Ashok Alexander, former director at McKinsey & Company and India country director of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF). The team comprises a diverse set of individuals with backgrounds such as management consulting, public health, journalism, academia, development and others.

POSITION

TAF is looking for a committed, creative and entrepreneurial individual with 7-10 years' experience to join as Manager - Donor Development in its Delhi office. The role requires strong communications and people skills, with a focus on written communications and prior experience in managing teams. While there is no specific background requirement, the person should have an interest in the social sector space, an open mind to learn and be willing to work hard in an impact-oriented fast-paced environment to achieve the organisation's goals.

The Manager - Donor Development will work closely with the Director - Communications and Donor Development and the TAF leadership to manage the complete portfolio of donor development and donor management tasks. The person will coordinate with various teams to ensure commitments to all donors are met, ensure effective communication to demonstrate impactful utilization of funds, and create meaningful engagement with key donors to ensure sustained and recurring donations. At the same, the person will manage

TAF's various fundraising activities to ensure a healthy pipeline of funds to support the organisation's growth.

KEY TASKS

- Support leadership in development and management of organization's fundraising strategy (e.g., target donor segments, funding options, fundraising methods)

- Manage activities to support donor development efforts, directly and with support from team, including but not limited to -

Research on potential donors, grant opportunities

Market research on the philanthropic markets in India and abroad

Tracking ongoing conversations with interested individuals and organizations

Facilitate meetings with leadership

Preparation of collateral required (e.g., meeting decks, proposals, profile notes)

Engaging donors with on-field activities (e.g., calls/meetings with program team and community, field visits)

- Introduce and implement new fundraising activities as required (e.g., funding campaigns, retail online giving, employee workplace giving) to expand organization's donor base

- Support organization in proposal development, grant applications, contract procedures and due diligences as and when required

- Account management of donors, including meeting various compliance and reporting requirements (e.g., progress reports, check-in meetings, impact stories), in close collaboration with different teams (e.g., program team, finance and admin teams)

- Manage junior team members supporting donor development and management (e.g., task allocation, work planning, review of work)

- Regular mentoring and professional development of junior team members

- As member of the core group, contribute inputs and provide need-based support to Program Leads across organization fronts

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

- Graduate or post-graduate (no specific qualifications); 7-10 years' experience

- Prior experience in donor management, fundraising, communications will be a plus; candidates from the corporate sector with experience in project management and other relevant skills are also encouraged to apply

- Strong people, written/verbal communications and presentation skills

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment

- Creative and entrepreneurial mindset

- Strong values of humility, integrity and desire to learn

- Occasional field visits to rural Madhya Pradesh to gain first-hand understanding of TAF's interventions
