Manager - Distribution - Logistics
- Role involves movement of goods from Companys pan India Regional Distribution Centres (RDC) to Local and Upcountry dealers/distributors and Customers. Additionally, Reverse Logistics of picking up goods from these points back to RDC is part of the scope.
- Experience in managing Secondary distribution & Hub Transport Operations along with P&L responsibility for FTL/PTL from pan India RDCs.
- Should have mandatorily worked at a National level handling secondary distribution on pan India basis with a Transport/3PL company.
- Preferably should have experience of working in different regional geographies especially North/South & Western territories handling secondary distribution.
- Extremely well versed with local and upcountry route planning and vehicle wise load planning to ensure optimization of cost and Turn Around Time
- Experience of working with pan India Corporate Companies and their SLAs as well local contracts with small & mid size local customer base
- Experience of working on Secondary Distribution and LMD softwares.
- Strong network of local market vendor base and well versed with pricing & contractual terms as applicable at various local set ups.
- Ability to provide Part Load delivery solutions to RDCs for upcountry locations through local tie-ups with specialized PTL transporters/couriers within budgeted costs with no damages
- Work closely with Distribution Executive at the warehouse and Warehouse Manager/Operations Manager to ensure smooth functioning locally without any friction/delays
- Proven experience of hiring/negotiating and working with a large variety of vehicle types like Tata ACE, Tata 407, 14/17/19/20/32 Feet close body trucks for distribution logistics
- Well versed with Vehicles compliances and other transportation statutory requirements and ensure adherence
- Experience of working with Transport Budgets & control cost to meet targets.
- Well versed in conducting transport bill audits/verification prior payment processing
- Experience of working with REEFER vehicles for Secondary Distribution of Temperature Controlled products will be an added advantage
- Experience of managing/leading a team on pan india basis and drive continuous improvement for region/area together with local transportation team
- Work in tandem for supporting Business Development and sales efforts to generate new business.
- Self-starter, Confident, Collaborative with ability to multitask and work in a team.
- Track record in negotiations, deal closure and Customer Relationship Management.
- Knack for problem solving, business development. Strong analytical & P&L skills.
