Tax Compliance & Reporting:

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all direct tax returns (including corporate tax, TDS, and other applicable returns).

- Manage tax computations and provisioning in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards and Income Tax Act.

- Maintain documentation and reconciliations related to tax audits and statutory filings.

- Prepare and review tax audit reports, transfer pricing documentation, and statutory disclosures.

Assessments & Litigation:

- Represent the company before income tax authorities for assessments, appeals, and scrutiny matters.

- Handle correspondence with tax authorities and manage consultants and legal counsel for complex tax matters.

- Track litigation status and maintain an updated litigation dashboard for senior management.

Strategic Tax Planning:

- Provide guidance on tax-efficient structures for business operations and transactions.

- Evaluate the tax implications of inter-company transactions, mergers/acquisitions, and capital expenditures.

- Conduct risk assessments and scenario planning to optimize effective tax rates.

Stakeholder Management & Internal Coordination:

- Collaborate with internal teams such as legal, finance, accounts, and operations to ensure tax compliance and alignment.

- Support internal and statutory audits with respect to direct taxation matters.

- Coordinate with external consultants for opinion and advice on complex transactions.

Process Improvement & Automation:

- Drive tax process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

- Stay updated on amendments in direct tax laws, judicial precedents, and regulatory developments.

Key Requirements:

- Chartered Accountant with 6-8 years of post-qualification experience in direct taxation, preferably in a manufacturing or large corporate setup.

- Strong knowledge of the Indian Income Tax Act, Transfer Pricing Regulations, and International Taxation.

- Hands-on experience in handling tax assessments, litigation, and tax audits.

- Proficient in MS Excel, tax tools, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).

- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under strict deadlines.
