Manager - Data Science - IT Services Firm (8-11 yrs)
Responsibilities :
- Management: share responsibilities of managing the team
- Client projects and Internal development: Analytics lead on client projects responsible for data science application development, Take responsibility for requirements gathering, solution design, development, and developing a production-level data science solution; Guide team members on project work and take responsibility for the analytics deliverables; Conduct proof-of-concept work to test new data science algorithms or features
- Data Science Practice: Develop implementation guidelines, quality control procedures, and documentation for projects; Ensure adherence to the best practices in the project; Work with data science leadership to grow data science expertise and nurture the talent by conducting internal training
Required Skills and Experience :
- Strong on leadership skills and values like delighting customers, taking initiative, being trustworthy, and working collaboratively
- 8-10 years of data science experience using statistics, machine learning, or forecasting
- At least 2-3 years of experience of leading junior team members on projects using machine learning (like Decision Trees, Gradient Boosting, Random Forest, and Neural Networks) or forecasting techniques (ESM, ARIMA, ARIMAX, UCM) to meet analytics requirements
- Advanced expertise in and ability to train team members in Advanced Python for Data Science, Machine Learning or Forecasting, and SQL
- Exceptional communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts to business audiences
- Ability to work effectively in global teams and customers in different time zones
- Experience in one or more domains, retail, manufacturing, consumer goods, or finance/banking
Education:
- Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science)
- Certification programs or courses in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence from reputed institutes
